105 BSFs for Beholder/Songbird. Best ever for Songbird, but not quite enough.

Very great ride by Highland Reel for the Turf. Made Flintshire beat him and he could not.

Wow. Arrogate beat Chrome. Great race.

Re: Horse Racing -- The Sport of Kings -- 2012 and beyond

Time for the rematch of the Breeders Cup Classic battle between 2016 HOTY California Chrome and 2016 3yo champ Arrogate.

Pegasus World Cup (G1)
Gulfstream Park (Race 12), $12M, 4YO & Up, 1 1/8m, Dirt
Post: 5:40p ET, TV: NBC

1. Arrogate (Mike Smith), 7-5
2. Prayer for Relief (Florent Geroux), 50-1
3. Neolithic (John Velazquez), 30-1
4. Noble Bird (Julien Leparoux), 25-1
5. War Story (Antonio Gallardo), 50-1
6. War Envoy (Luis Saez), 50-1
7. Shaman Ghost (Jose Oritz), 20-1
8. Semper Fortis (Tyler Gaffalione), 50-1
9. Keen Ice (Javier Castellano), 12-1
10. Breaking Lucky (Luis Contreras), 25-1
11. Eragon (Edgar Prado), 50-1
12. California Chrome (Victor Espinoza), 6-5

Arrogate beat California Chrome by a nose in the BCC. This is the biggest horse racing purse ever (1st wins $7M). This will be California Chrome's last race.

Re: Horse Racing -- The Sport of Kings -- 2012 and beyond

Like Tirico said...no doubt about it....Arrogate is the best horse in the world. He showed it in November and even moreso now. He is going to be so fun to watch this year. Already planning my trip to Del Mar for the BCC.

Chrome had a tough start with that far outside post. Bad way to go out.

Should be some interesting payouts for the exotics.

Now the big question....do they send Arrogate to Dubai.

116 BSF for Arrogate. So that's 122, 120, and 116 in his last 3 races. Don't think I've ever seen that before. Amazing performances.

I doubt very seriously it will happen, but I read that Taylor Made will consider racing him in the BCC and Pegasus World Cup again between breeding seasons.

Re: Horse Racing -- The Sport of Kings -- 2012 and beyond

I could see him finishing his career in the Pegasus if all goes well. I assume he'll primarily run in CA this season.

Also saw that there were clocking issues at Gulfstrem and he may have actually had a time that is a second faster so his speed figures for the Pegasus were probably understated.

Due to the clocking issue, it was changed to 119.

Trakus timed him at 1:46.83, which is a track record.

Sorry to see Royal Delta die due to foaling complications at age 9. She was one of my favorites. Such a great filly.

Easy win for Gun Runner in the Razorback H. Looks like the strongest challenger to Arrogate in the older division at this point.

110 BSF - best in his career.

One Liner won the Southwest Stakes - got a 102. Best for a 3yo this year.

Yeah. I don't know how the 4-11 is set since Meydan does not actually offer betting....I guess all the Sheikhs bet against each other. Will be interesting how Twinspires handles it.

If he wins, he'll have his own Triple Crown - 3 wins in the 3 richest races in the world in a row. Plus a win would put him on top in all time earnings worldwide.
