Holy cow... I have no idea. I think I'd say 49-48 Bendo, but that was just a great fight.

I have Edgar winning but can't argue if they give it to Bendo

Man, I feel bad for Edgar. That guy fought his heart out, as usual, and you could absolutely make a legit argument that he won off total strikes and consistency.

Re: The Official MMA Thread - Part IX

That was a hell of a fight.

Wonder if we will get Bendo/Pettis II now or a rematch with Edgar.

Great fight, surprised at how good Bendo's striking was.

Re: The Official MMA Thread - Part IX

I think your point earlier is correct, LW is stacked and they need Edgar at FW. I bet they try to get Frankie to drop to 145, maybe even straight to a title shot off this close of a loss, and try to set up Pettis/Bendo.

Re: The Official MMA Thread - Part IX

Glad I decided to go ahead and order it about 5 minutes before it started. Rampage/Bader was the only crap fight IMO.

Given the way they've been cramming PPV's in it's hard to believe there's not another PPV until April 21st.

Looking forward to the card on FX on Friday with the the debut of the Flyweight division and then Rousey/Tate next Saturday.

Re: The Official MMA Thread - Part IX

So on the scorecards all 3 judges gave Edgar the first and one of them gave him the 5th.

Rogan said he heard it's going to be Henderson vs. Pettis next. Fell bad for edgar if that's true, the 2 guys he beats get rematches after close fights and now he doesn't.

Benson won that fight. Clear as day. Frankie never one had a chance of finishing. Hopefully he drops to featherweight where he belongs.

Re: The Official MMA Thread - Part IX

Rampage just became a gatekeeper. Who's left for him to fight? It's all rematches. Shogun, Hendo, Forrest, Machida, Evans Jones, Bader.

If its the Rampage that showed up tonight I don't want to see any of those fights. If Rampage fights again, at this point he should be given one of three opponents : Krzysztof Soszynski, Stephen Bonnar, Brandon Vera.

Looking at the new TUF cast now. I've seen Chris Tickle fight a few times. He's a good striker and a weak wrestler. His last fight was on a show I judged and he beat TUF vet Brian Geraghty.

Re: The Official MMA Thread - Part IX

Should shake things up a bit ...

http://www.fightersonlymag.com/conte...-gay-porn-star

Longtime followers of The Ultimate Fighter reality show know that its producers love a bit of drama, whether it be practical jokes raising tempers or abrasive personalities locked into the same house for weeks on end.

The latest season - TUF 15 - will commence on March 9th on FX . As it is airing on a FOX channel and is the first time the show has featured live fights rather than pre-records, it is sure to get more attention than recent seasons have.

But there is also going to be some controversy, and one of the most polarising matters is surely going to be the inclusion of a gay porn star as a cast member.

Dakota Cochrane has an 11-2 professional record which includes a solid win over former WEC champion Jamie Varner. But he also has a sideline as ‘Danny’ and ‘Sean Cody’ in the gay porn industry, which is likely to cause a stir among MMA fans when it hits the forums.. Ooh, any second now.

A post on Middle Easy first flagged up Cochrane’s moonlighting and a quick Google search of his name came up with a website called Queerty, which has him featured in a list of athletes who have become gay porn stars (or gay porn stars who have become athletes, one or the other).

Interesting quote from the Queerty article. Asked about his personal life, Cochrane is quoted as saying “Yes [my girlfriend knows I'm doing gay porn], but she’s not happy about it” - can anyone really blame her?

It does not take a sociology degree to understand that the typical MMA fan - certainly the casual aficionado - is of the loudly heterosexual, Tapout-wearing alpha-posturing variety and so Cochrane’s presence in the TUF line-up is going to cause some outrage and some not very nice epithets being thrown around.

But let us try and encourage a mature approach. Above all, Cochrane is a successful professional fighter who trains with some animals at Premier Combat Center. His training partners include Jason Brilz, Jake Ellenberger, Ryan Jensen and Houston Alexander.

All of them have fought under the UFC banner and as it seems his sideline job has been common knowledge since the middle of last year, they clearly aren’t bothered about his sexuality. That said, he has probably heard one too many jokes about ‘naked rear chokes’ and ‘the third hook’.

@ Alves

I missed the first fight but I thought McCall beat Johnson, though in the end it probably doesn't matter because I doubt either would beat Joe B.

So did the judges. It was scored as a Draw.

Quote:
The error in question was made by Craig Waller, executive officer of the Combat Sports Authority of New South Wales.

“I take full responsibility for the error that was incurred. Unfortunately, I misread one of the scorecards,” said Waller. “The fight should have been a majority draw, and we should have gone into that fourth round. I sincerely apologize to both fighters, to Dana, and to every single fan of the UFC.

Scott Smith looks like he needs to find another profession. He was criminally out-of-shape and somehow looked worse than usual.

I cannot believe that Tate was just standing in the ring afterwards. That was insane, her arm looked absolutely mangled but she seems reasonably alright.

I wonder how much of a bonus Misaki is going to get for beating Daley.

So Strikeforce let a guy who's a neo-nazi and a registered sex offender fight on the undercard tonight.
