I honestly don't know who to pick for either game. I'll go Pats and Giants because I can't imagine Flacco or Alex Smith in the Super Bowl but...

the Pats haven't beaten a team all season as good as the Ravens.

The Niners just won a shootout against a team that crushed the Giants a few weeks ago.

I'm rooting for the Ravens and Niners though... I would love to see ESPN spend a week hyping Alex Smith vs. Joe Flacco

The Pats haven't beaten a good team period. Hell, I saw the Redskins go toe to toe with the Pats a month ago. They're nothing special. If Sexy Rexy can play that well against them, I don't see why Flacco can't, lack of playoff pedigree or not.

That's what I'm rooting for too (at least until I put bets in) - if only to see the masses whine about it. But also because fuck NY and Boston.

I think people stopped calling Flacco an "up and coming talent" 2 postseasons ago. But regardless, it would be garbage (Flacco) vs. garbage (Pats D) when the Ravens have the ball.

Their defense is nothing special. Their offense has Tom Brady. As for the Redskins game, they were just palming their head as the Redskins flailed away. Brady absolutely dissected the Eagles defense. Guy is unreal. But he can have an off day.

I gotta say I am nervous about the Giants. Eli can be crazy good at times, and they have some great receivers.

You gotta love the ESPN SportsNation poll. Only 8 states pick the Giants, the rest are picking the 49ers.

Of the 8 states, of course one is New York, another is New Jersey. Those are to be expected. Then the funny thing is most of Louisiana picks the Giants, too

Then Mass. picks the 49ers because they hate anything New York.

What a country.
