Re: The 2012 NFL Draft/Early Declaration Thread

Cleveland gives Minny their 3rd round pick to swap spots in the 1st to take Trent Richarson at 3. what is the point of that?

I suppose to keep anyone else from swiping him first. The Cleveland fans probably would have to be put on suicide watch if they got screwed out of Richardson after whiffing on RGIII earlier in the off-season.

Re: The 2012 NFL Draft/Early Declaration Thread

Apparently the Lions are trying hard to move up from 23 to get either Dre Kirkpatrick or Stephon Gilmore. As long as they don't have to give up too much, I'd be ecstatic to land one of those two. Hell, Barron would be a coup at this point.

Otherwise I hope they stay put and take Peter Konz so we can put Raiola out to pasture once and for all.

Tampa also wanted to swap up to #3. Cleveland just made sure they grabbed Richardson.

It could have been worse for the Browns. They gave up a 2nd rounder in 2004 just to swap spots with the Lions so they could draft Kellen Winslow Jr.

holy shit. Browns gave up TWO 4th rounders, a 5th, and a 7th to move up to #3 from #4

That was awesome. of course Millen ruined it...but it was still pretty cool at the time. I think that was the Teddy Lehman pick...one of many many two year contributors who then disappeared Millen took.

Re: The 2012 NFL Draft/Early Declaration Thread

I was just looking at some stats. Kansas and their worst-in-the-FBS defense gave up 288 yards and 5 TDs in less than a half to Brandon Weeden, 312 yards, 3 TDs passing and 103 yards and 1 TD rushing to RGIII (in a near-win for KU), and 280 yards and 3 TDs in 2 1/2 quarters to Ryan Tannehill in a 61-7 squeaker.
I think former Kansas coach Turner Gill has earned a spot in the Green Room based on his ability to elevate the draft stock of Big XII QBs.

Happy with that deal for the Vikes. I hope they aren't done dealing. End of the day, knowing the vikes, getting 3 late round picks won't pan out to anything though, as they'll dish all 3 to move up 2 spots in the 3rd round to draft someone worthless.

Just one 4th, from what I've seen. Still, a lot, but they had 13 picks going into this thing.

And that is also why I am not upset, as the Clowns would have wasted those picks as well.

more shocking developments! Richardson to Cleveland!

Minny is hopeless for eternity if they don't take Kalil here.

I think former Kansas coach Turner Gill has earned a spot in the Green Room based on his ability to elevate the draft stock of Big XII QBs.
Seeing as Gill is a former college qb and has ALWAYS worked on the offensive side of the ball during his coaching career had nothing to do with the defense at Kansas, how exactly can he take any blame for the shitty performance of Kansas defense? That's like blaming Tom Brady and Wes Welker for the shitty Patriots defense of last season.

Please.

I must say, the drunken louts and scum who are called 'fans' that usually spend the entire draft at Radio City shrieking and screeching out obscenities and racial slurs are oddly quiet. This does not bode well.

Blackmon is a stud....best WR to come out since Megatron. too bad he'll whither on the vine in Jacksonville.

The Rams have traded down with Dallas, getting their 2nd round pick. I'm hoping they can get Floyd at #14.

considering what Cleveland gave up to move up one spot, that seems awfully cheap.
