Re: 2011 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 7

They are saying the trade was voided between the Lions and Eagles because they found a brain tumor:

Quote:
As Philadelphia Eagles doctors were giving newly acquired running back Jerome Harrison his physical, they discovered a brain tumor that nullified a trade with the Detroit Lions, according to two league sources.

The trade might have actually saved Harrison's life, the sources said. Without the deal being made, Harrison would not have undergone a physical. The tumor is now being treated, according to sources.
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/71...de-source-says

Pretty nuts, glad they were able to catch it. Lions are really short at RB now, I wonder if they'll dust off a Shaun Alexander type.

Not current NFL related, but an interesting look at some of Buddy Ryan's... questionable tactics when he coached the Houston Oilers (along with a link to his 1993 Oilers playbook): http://smartfootball.com/defense/bud...oalline-tactic

Yeah - I'd say the World Series might actually beat SNF but MLB/FOX is so Yanks-Sawx dependent, even that still might not beat this dog of a matchup.

Olin Kruetz has no passion for football anymore and does not want to collect a paycheck anymore

When the Bears let Olin go, I thought the Bears were stupid, shows what I know huh? Olin had a good career, is he a Hall of Famer?

Time to make the flex schedule applicable for the whole season.

Not their fault though, they thought Peyton would be playing so that is why they have 4 primetime games

Probably the most fun I've had watching a HOU/TEN defense in the last twenty years of cheering for the team was that 1993 defense.

Too bad they screwed the pooch in the playoff game vs KC.

As for me, I get stuck with another game announced by Nantz and Simms. What joy.

I get ATL/DET early. Should be a good matchup.

Re: 2011 NFL Regular Season Thread -- Week 7

The already pathetic Vikings secondary just got worse, as Chris Cook has been arrested for domestic assault.

Pack could go for some scoring records, though I doubt Ponder will be able to do enough to keep them trying too hard in the 2nd half.

I wouldn't be surprised if GB & NO combine to put up 100 points this week.

The bizarre thing is that GB is only laying 9 right now. They laid nearly a TD at Atlanta a few weeks ago and covered that, and Atlanta, while mediocre this year, is way better than Minny right now, particularly with a rookie QB. Granted, the line has been moving up already and I would expect it to get to 10.
