Funny prank pulled on Kirk Gibson the other day. They found that old Right Guard commercial he did where he's in a tub and players made a tie out of it. Everyone wore them on their trip out to KC.

Rumor has it that they are going to start selling them and donate the money to charity.

Jim Riggleman (Nationals Manager) resigns. I guess winning all of those games finally got to him

On a serious note he apparently was asking for the Nats to pick up his 2012 option and they declined.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them land a big name... the Nats have a shot at being really good either next year or the following year. If Strasburg comes back anywhere remotely close to what he was they have a tremendous 1-2 with him and Jordan Zimmerman. They have a quality infield with the other Zimmerman, Espinosa, Desmond and their top pick Rendon could be up sometime next year. They have Werth in the OF with Bryce Harper on the way and have Ramos (no I'm not trying to stir things up) and Norris behind the plate . With some money to burn, if they pick up a 1B (Fielder?) or another quality starter they will be a formidable team in the NL East in 2 years. They also have a couple of young arms in the pen (Storen, Clippard, Henry Rodriguez)

I don't know what to think of that Riggleman quitting thing.
Never was too impressed of him as a manager, but he did have the Nat's playing well this year.

Quitting in the middle of the season on a hot streak like that seems messed p though.

Oswalt is getting his fastball up into the 90's so far in the first, good sign as he has been in the high 80's lately.
And as I was typing that he gives up a bomb John Jay.

Looks like Carpenter hasn't been any good this year so naturally expect him to shut out the Phils.
The Phils announcers were saying he hasn't been using his curve much this year. Well he has been today, a lot and the Phils don't hit slow stuff so.....

I like Cuddy fine, but would be OK with dealing him. I think he'd really do well on a contender.
