Re: MLB Wednesday, June 8, 2011

Wainwright out for the season.

Carpenter with 1 victory to this point.

Holliday has missed a boatload of games with multiple injuries and other starters have been out for extended periods of time.

Pujols has played well below his standards until just this last weekend.

The bullpen has blown a ton of games in the 9th inning this season.

All of that, and the Cards have the best record in the majors. Unbelievable.

It's easily explainable. God loves the Cardinals.

So, are the brewers hoping to lower Fielder's asking price a little by drafting Boras' kid?

Re: MLB Wednesday, June 8, 2011

Didn't think the Yankees would beat Lester but I was at least hoping that Garcia wouldn't kill the bullpen. Sigh.

Nice 6 innings by Hector Noesi though. He made one mistake to Ortiz and Ortiz did with it what Ortiz does with bad pitches. Other than that a solid outing and he gave the Yankees plenty of chances to come back. Maybe it's unfair to say considering how well he's pitched so far but I think this is the beginning of Freddy Garcia's breakdown... if I'm right then at least they have Noesi to fill in as a spot starter. He's been much better than I expected.

Wakefield going tonight... hopefully Burnett can give us 6 innings and 3 runs because I feel the Yankees can tag Wakefield. Although it'll be a crisp 95 degrees in NYC today and the humidity might just make that knuckleball unhittable.

Yeah its a hot one today for sure, but just not sure if Wake can get it done... I foresee this one being the rout and not on the Sox' side.

The Twins recover from their loss yesterday and take their first 3 game series win. Still no hope for us, but we are helping out the Tigers and Sox. Capps blow's another one, but the reserves are playing hot enough to recover.

The Yankees catcher has thrown two balls into center on steals in two innings. Both runners advance to third and eventually scored.

I've gone and jinxed the Cards now. Bud Norris, a frequent Cardinal nemesis has a no-hitter thru 6. Hopefully this post will sabotage Norris' efforts.

Edit: Lance Berkman homers in the 7th.

Dbacks collapse has started. Had the lead in the 10th and now it's tied.

So true. I'm shocked that this team has a .500 record considering that there are some really crappy hitters in the lineup. The #5-9 guys pretty much stink and are automatic outs. They are relying on their 3rd catcher as the first two guys are now injured (Chris Synder and Ryan Doumit).

Anyway, it's nice to be able to watch competitive baseball for a year or two. Hurdle has to stop burning through the bullpen every game though. They actually have several legitimate All Star Candidates this year (Correia, McCutchen, Walker, Morton and Hanarahan) as opposed to their usual token one that is there only because MLB mandates that every team has to be represented.

Quite the comeback by the Brewers last night. They're a scary team. Well equipped for a postseason run this year.

The way things are going, the NL All-star team might give us an idea of how such a team would look.
