The St. Louis lineup should be real interesting today.

Yankees bullpen not available tonight but with CC on the mound, that should be a good thing

Nice comeback win by the Dbacks last night.

It would be nice if they can keep winning as I am seeing them in KC in a couple of weeks.

Cards won their fourth in a row. Kyle McClellan becomes the first six-game winner in the league. Third straight starter to last eight innings.

Re: MLB Thursday, May 19, 2011

It was nice for the Reds to be in 1st for a few days anyway. Lots of ball left to play though. This will be fun all year I think. Reds really should've lost the last 4 instead of the last 2, but the Cubs just didn't want to win, fortunately for Cincinnati. About to see what the Reds are made of on the road coming up: Indiansx3, Philliesx4, Bravesx3. If we can play .500 over the stretch, I'll call it a success.

Yeah, they still have a lot of issues, but it was nice to see some timely hitting and some power. It was especially nice to see Morneau have a good game. Granted, they had Oaklands bullpen for the entire game.

Re: MLB Thursday, May 19, 2011

CC Sabathia drills Markakis in the small of the back with 2 out and noone on in the first inning

Set him up with a curveball on the first pitch (to make it seem a little less obvious) and he drilled him in with a 95mph fastball that he had no chance of getting out of the way of... no question about that one. In addition to the beaning last night, the O's manage to hit Cano in the first inning (also probably unintentional, but at some point you have to stop throwing inside if you can't do it without hitting people)

Posada getting the start at 1B

This played out opposite of how things went last year when St. Louis owned the Reds but couldn't beat the lesser teams. The Cards have an easier stretch of schedule with games against the Royals and Padres, so I'm hopeful they can go on a run despite all the injuries.

Re: MLB Thursday, May 19, 2011

Giambi with 3 HR in his first 3AB's (hard to believe, but his first career 3 homer game)...

and then the homeplate umpire gives the Phils a mercy call in his 4th AB.

Yeah that last pitch just caught the corner.... of the opposing batters box! Hate to see that with a shot at 4 HR's (he should get one more AB though)

Yankees infield in the 9th inning:

Russell Martin - 3rd
Jeter - SS
Nunez -2nd
Posada - 1st
Cervelli - catcher

3 catchers playing at the same time! Bring in AJ to play SS!!!

The Blue Jays should never, ever put Encarnacion back on the field whether he's at third or first base. Leave Rivera at first until Lind comes back.

Shitty? They are only a few games under .500. It's not like they are the Astros of the Twins. Sheesh.

I desperately wanted Giambi out of New York a few years ago but I always liked the guy. Good to see him doing steroids er, well somewhere else.

C'mon. He faced a reliever given the start on short notice. Plus, Kendrick sucks to begin with.

^That happens somewhere every day. Starter sucks, gets relieved by a guy who sucks too. Not everyone hits 3 home runs everyday though.

Remember he has never admitted to taking steroids, only apologizing, yet he didn't say exactly what he was apologizing about in that press conference!
