Pretty nuts that the Tigers are now 16 back, they were in first place in July.

I believe the Cards may have doubled their playoff chances (from nearly 2% to almost 4%) with their victory yesterday.

It ain't over yet. Redlegs have been very mediocre this month, making a few opposing pitchers look like Cy Young candidates over the home stand, not to mention bullpen meltdowns. They're fortunate they came out of it 4-3. Redlegs start a 9 game road stretch tonight, starting with the 'stros, who've gone 30-18 since the last time the two teams met, ending at Petco (where I hope, they'll clinch). However if things keep up pace, or fall off at all, the only solace for us Redlegs is that the Redbirds have 4 games at Coors Field to finish it off.

Wow just happened to turn on MLB network. Yankees down to last strike, down two runs with two on. A-Rod put it in the seats.

And the reverse jinx takes exactly one batter. He's given up 3 hits in the 8th, including a leadoff HR.
