Who would have thought the San Diego Padres would have the NL's best record at Mother's Day? Their solid play is going to make it tough on the GM, who I would think was prepared to entertain offers for Gonzalez, Bell, etc by this summer. It will be interesting to see if they can keep it up.

Towards the end of last season they were showing signs that the team was coming together. It was unknown how much that would continue to this season. So far, so good.

What the hell is Starlin Castro's problem? After Friday I was ready to call him the greatest player of all-time since Jason Heyward, then he turned in two mediocre games. If he doesn't pull his head out soon, I'm off his bandwagon for good.

The bullpen has blown 3 straight games for Tim Lincecum. We'll remember these games when it comes time for Cy Young voting again this year. With Halladay in the NL, I don't see Lincecum pulling out the award again this year if he ends up with a modest victory total.

Can you really blame him? I mean they started the season with Milton Bradley as their clean up hitter. It's not like he has much to work with.

No, I don't think anyone in Marinerland thinks of Cockrell as anything other than a scapegoat, but this is always the first move. It bugs JackZ a little time as the players "adjust" to the new philosophies. If things don't turn around soon, though, then yeah, the Mariners become sellers instead of buyers.

Normally I'd be rooting for the no hitter but Braden is such a whiny bitch. It'll be cool to see anyway. That's why I love baseball, anyone can throw a perfect game at anytime. My dad and I just stopped cold in the middle of dinner to see if this guy can pull it off.

On a side note, I love the MLB Network. 2 years ago I wouldn't be able to watch the end of this game.
