Did you check to see if anyone was covering 3rd on that double? You might have been able to take the extra base.

Everything was in front of me. I thought about 3rd, but then I realized I didn't want to be the 3rd out at 3rd base AND I have Matsui-like speed.

Very disappointed in the Phillies this entire series. They really had me fooled coming into this series with the way they played against the Dodgers. I expected better from the defending champs. They act like one of those teams that's just happy to be there. Rollins, Victorino, Howard, Hamels, Lidge did nothing in this series.

Yankees pitching really wasn't great in this series outside of Burnett in Game 2. It's just that the Phillies pitching stunk outside of Lee in Game 1 and the majority of the Yankees hitters showed up and the majority of the Phillies hitters didn't. That's the difference

I think people overanalyze alot of sporting outcomes. The Yankees were just better, plain and simple. Remember they won 103 games? I picked the Yanks in 7, but the Phils had so many ???? the whole season: Lidge, Hammels, can't hit lefties, the bullpen overall, could Pedro pitch 2 games in a series?

All of these question marks came back to bite them in the ass by a better team. Now if we had the Lidge and Hammels of last year, things would have been different, but they just never came back to that form.

Hamels and Howard really were the keys to this series and neither performed and then Howard hits a homer. Too late.
