Terrell Owens Career May Be Over

Read this article yesterday:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slu...yhoo&type=lgns

Apparently, Owens is having his worst year ever with the Buffalo Bills, and he sucked pretty bad last year with the Cowboys. I remember several dropped balls. Does this guy have butterfingers or what?

It's said to see him fade away so quickly. Two years ago, he was kicking ass with the Cowboys, breaking records. He brought excitement to the team again. Now the Cowboys suck even more without him.

He already apologized. What more do you want him to do?

I'll say one thing. I enjoyed him sucking as a member of the Cowboys more than I do him sucking as a Buffalo Bill.

Re: Terrell Owens Career May Be Over

I don't think his career is over. He just needs to go to a team that doesn't suck at throwing the ball as much as the Bills do. He's still a servicable WR and could be a #1 on a few teams and #2 in most.

Re: Terrell Owens Career May Be Over

Over his last two years with Dallas I saw him short arm a lot of passes to avoid taking big hits -passes that he could have cought if he really tried.

As a Cowboys fan I wanted him gone after I saw that pattern.

As a Chargers fan I'd want the team to avoid him like the plague.

T.O. is one of the most selfish players ever (NOT giving 100% effort to trying to catch a ball in order to avoid a hit is VERY selfish), and the guy is just nuts. Any team that signs him is stupid.

I could see him in Baltimore next year. Honest.

As a Bengals fan I wouldn't know whether to cheer the move or dread it.

As a Charger fan I definitely wouldn't want him near our team. Chambers isn't done. He's just the 3rd or 4th option now. WR is actually the least of our team's worries.

Re: Terrell Owens Career May Be Over

He short arms passes over the middle when he would take a hit if he made the catch.

Only an idiot GM would bring a guy like that to his team.

A.J. - Don't be an idiot!

Until the Chargers get rid of Turner, all other discussion regarding San Diego is irrelevant (in terms of improving/worsening the team).

I became a Cowboys fan back in 1977 when the Chargers were still a horrible team and hadn't been any good my entire life at that point.

The next year the Chargers hired Don Coryell and the team turned around immediately and we finally had an NFL team in town that was worth getting excited about - but I was still a Cowboys fan (how could you not be - Roger Staubach, Tony Dorsett, Drew Pearson, Butch Johnson, Too Tall Jones, Harvey Martin, Randy White - that team was a lot of fun).

I haven't been able to follow the Cowboys as closely over the last 10 years as they no longer get shown on TV out here as much as they used to, but I'm still a fan.

I dont understand how this guy keeps getting jobs. He has a 79-98 record as a head coach. In 12 seasons as an NFL head coach only 4 times has his team finished the season with a winning record.

So in other words, you're a bandwagon jumper?

Yup. He can dress it up all he wants, but that's the gist of what he said.

Re: Terrell Owens Career May Be Over

Owens was always a decent, not good, catcher in Dallas. It was his speed if he actually made the catch that separates him from other WRs.

Which is why when he would complain about getting passed the ball more, it was always hilarious b/c when they did, he would drop more than he would catch. And if the ball is in danger of being intercepted, he never tries to break it up.

No, I was NINE years old in 1977, and I saw a Cowboys game on TV and loved the team. The Chargers were a non-factor in town since they hadn't won anything since the mid 60's.

I'm still a Cowboys fan, and have been a Chargers fan since they hired Don Coryell as coach in the middle of the 1978 season. (He was the head coach at San Diego State, and I've been an Aztecs fan literally since I was 2.)

I've never stopped being a fan of either team, so I don't see how that's bandwagon jumping.

And how old were you in 1977? Care to go over what teams you've followed since then?

you can't be a cowboy fan and a charger fan.. maybe in baseball you could follow two teams an al team and an nl team.. but not in football.
