Re: 2009-2010 NHL Regular Season Thread
Always nice to start off the season with a Leafs/Habs matchup.Be interesting to see all the changes in the two teams and i'm sure fans of both will decide their season's fate based on this 1st game

Go Blues!
I'm very pumped for this season. With the return to the playoffs last year and Erik Johnson returning (and Kariya too for that matter), this season is looking promising. I can't wait...I wish I could leave work early to watch the game at 3 tomorrow. |

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Regular Season Thread
Last year for Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh. It will be kind of sad to not have Pens games there after this year (although I'm sure the new arena will be great).

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Regular Season Thread
FYI - I suppose to compensate for the lack of VS., DirecTV is offering a freeview of CI until the end of the month. Also, I've read that some people are calling up DirecTV and getting great deals for CI: ranging from half-price to free.

After personally drifting away from hockey for the past few years I'm going to make an effort to get back into it this year. I joined a fantasy hockey league, so at least I'll get a leg up on all the players and who's doing what this year. I'm excited about the 2009-10 NHL season.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Regular Season Thread
I posted this in the off-season thread, but it really belongs here:
Blues to Hold NHL Premiere Watch Parties Fans can watch both Sweden games on the scoreboard at Scottrade Center St. Louis Blues The Blues announced Friday they will be hosting watch parties at Scottrade Center for both season-opening Blues games being held in Stockholm, Sweden. Scottrade Center will opens its doors at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2 and Saturday, Oct. 3. Fans can sit in select lower bowl sections and follow the action on the Scottrade Center scoreboard live from Stockholm. Admission to the watch parties is free and seating is general admission. Several concession stands will be open so fans can purchase food and drinks during the game. The puck drops at 2 p.m. for each game. “The NHL Premiere games are a signature event for the League, our players and our fans,” said NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman. “Playing regular-season games overseas is an excellent way to further engage the passionate NHL fan base in Europe and encourage the growth of the game of hockey.” Fans can check out stlouisblues.com throughout the week for coverage from Sweden, including travel blogs, photos, videos and more.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Regular Season Thread
Good start to the game in Toronto. Boston/Washington is not quite as exciting. Krejci looks pretty good for Boston, I thought he was banged up and going to be out for a while.

Didnt take long for Orr and Laraque to drop the gloves.

They are going to hate Gill in Montreal. Especially if they play him with Mara.

He wasnt exactly loved when he played here in Toronto.I was surprised he ended up on the Pens and playing as much as he did in their Cup run.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Regular Season Thread
Pens used him primarily on the PK and never had him pinch or do anything that would get him in a foot race.
Ovechkin with a 3 point night already. I hate him, but he is a scoring machine. |

Joe Sakic. Classy guy. Nice ceremony for him.
(And his wife Debbie? My God does she look extra hot tonight!) Obligatory pic: ![]()
