Re: 2009-2010 NHL Regular Season Thread

Pens really took it to the Blues in the first. 2-0 lead, and they outshot them 20-3. Game is on VS.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Regular Season Thread

I always like to catch Pens games.Theyre certainly looking good this season.D looks quite a bit stronger than last season course McKee over Gill is a big plus. Also having forwards that back check(especially their 3rd line) dont hurt either.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Regular Season Thread

I've seen all but 2 games this season, but I was glad VS finally put them on because my brother (in Texas) finally got to see them.

The good/scary thing is that they haven't gelled yet. A fresh Talbot should help. They look strong. I think with Bylsma, there won't be danger of a let down like mid-season last year. Hopefully they can keep moving pieces in and out and keep the guys fresh for another long spring run this year.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Regular Season Thread

Crosby is having a slow start as well, even though he still putting up a point per game. If you think about it, he hasn't been on since he got injured. He is still better 97% of the rest of the players in the NHL but still.

Any further word on Gonchar's injury?

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Regular Season Thread

Nothing confirmed yet on Gonchar, but rumor is it's a broken wrist and he is out at least a month.

http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pitt.../s_649048.html

"Teammates were told Gonchar has a broken bone near his hand or wrist, and he will be re-evaluated today to find its precise location. He is expected to miss at least a month."

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Regular Season Thread

Other injury news:

Marc Savard is out 4-6 weeks with a broken left foot.

http://www.boston.com/sports/hockey/..._placed_o.html

Tough stretch for the Bruins with Lucic and Savard both out for extended time with injuries.

Even though we won, I fully agree. Also, on that play someone hit Quincey's stick so hard it came out of his hands and no slashing call. Then after that they did let us get away with a few. Love this run we are on, hope it keeps up.

Damn that sucks. Hopefully it gives Alex Grant a chance to be called up to WBS.

That's too bad. I have Centre Ice until December when the NFL is over.

If I had known ahead that the Leafs were going to be this bad,I never would have gotten Center Ice.

Nice OT goal by Clutterbuck. The Wild are 3-0 at home (none in regulation though.)

Sharks finish their 6-game road trip 4-2. I'll take it, but I'm still worried about the defense.

Anderson standing on his head for the Avs and 2-0 against the Wings and top of the western conference, don't want to jinx anything, but loving this start.

No way, the Wild plan to go win-less on the road should keep them in #1 talk.

At this rate the Bruins will have to settle for #2 if the Canes keep playing so poorly

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Regular Season Thread

Malkin is out 2-3 weeks with a shoulder strain. Sounds mostly precautionary, and I doubt they would be doing it if they weren't off to such a great start.

I'm not sure anything can slow the Penguins down.

Caps are rolling - 6 in a row.

Best record in the nhl for the avs, I certainly didn't expect that this summer, but I'll take it. Hope they stay on this roll, really like the wins, comebacks and real hard work wins. Hunger and effort beats talent any day of the week.
