Does it make you wonder why he won't fight in the US for Strikeforce where there are drug tests?

Re: The Official MMA Thread - Part V
I didn't think I would be as excited for the fight tonight as I am right now. I think it's the fact that it's Kimbo/Nelson so quickly off the horrific first two fights. There's really no downside to the fight, either Kimbo really proves himself against a top fighter or we get to watch Kimbo get humbled. I'm rooting for Nelson, but it might be fun to keep Kimbo in the mix.

Re: The Official MMA Thread - Part V
Part of me hopes that Nelson takes Kimbo down, then for episode after episode the guys mock and make fun of him in the house over and over. Then down the road someone gets hurt and they need someone to come back, enter Kimbo, and he fights to get his revenge and wins and just destroys who he is in there with.
![]() For a single fight though, I'm pulling for Kimbo.

Re: The Official MMA Thread - Part V
Going back to last week's episode, there's an interview with one of Team Rashad's trainers that said he thought Wes won round 1.
Nothing to do with tonight but Kimbo already let slip Spoiler:

Deep thoughts with Kimbo was pretty hilarious. It's the enemy, no the enemy, no the inner me? You is the inner me?

If McSweeney did punch Rampage, it might have been the first TUF homicide.

Jesus. What a shitty lay and pray.
Heres hoping Kimbo can bring something hard on the finale.

Re: The Official MMA Thread - Part V
That was incredibly underwhelming.
If Roy Nelson actually gets a major fight on a UFC show he'll be destroyed. I'm calling it, what I said earlier about someone getting hurt and Kimbo stepping in and proving himself after being mocked for weeks...that's gonna happen. EDIT: They're already speculating about it in the preview. ![]()

Re: The Official MMA Thread - Part V
Going for that knee cost him. He lost his base and got taken down.

Re: The Official MMA Thread - Part V
I take it back, Nelson really does seem like a douchebag. That whole hitting him with pillows bullshit out on the patio was awful.

Re: The Official MMA Thread - Part V
It seemed like Kimbo went for a knee, and Roy fell on him. I also kind of laughed that in the background you could hear people counting the number of shots that Nelson was landing

Re: The Official MMA Thread - Part V
You know, I wouldn't say the UFC needs a super heavyweight division but come on man, 230 vs around 265? I'm not defending Kimbo at all but I would go as far to say that as heavy as Roy is, he would have prob not had too much difficulty with keeping a more seasoned ground fighter down because of how big his ass is.
I had a feeling that was definitely going to happen (how the fight turned out) and it was a shitty display but oh well. At least Kimbo rocked him a tad - glad I read that spoiler as well. |
