Re: MLB Thursday September 10, 2009

San Francisco, while they've fallen away from the pack, will still have a say in things. They have 3 games with the Rockies and 6 with the Dodgers left on the schedule. In the Dodgers' favor, they still have 2 series with the Pirates left...which is crazy - how do you go til mid September without playing (I'm assuming they haven't played them yet) a team? With the Pirates history, you're guaranteed that they will have traded all their veteran players by September...

Re: MLB Thursday September 10, 2009

Texas and LAA have 7 games left against eachother. Things can change very quickly that way. Plus LAA has 4 left against the Yankees and while the Angels own them, they're still not the team you want to have to play during the homestretch. Plus 3 against the Red Sox in Fenway.

Meanwhile Texas has Seattle twice, Oakland twice, and a home series against the already packed up Tampa Bay Rays.

This won't be easy for the Angels. I would love to see the Rangers scoop in and steal this one.

ESPN story

I've always wondered in situations like this, how is it possible to enforce this?

I don't think you really can unless someone that work there recognizes you or someone rat you out.

I think the point is if you are found there again you are tresspassing, so they could arrest you

You decide if its worth it

I love how in the headline it says one-year ban but in the second line of the story it says banned for life.

^ There's a one year ban from the criminal case, the Mets decided to ban him for life - it's in the article.

Quote:
Coakley was banned from Citi Field for one year in connection with his criminal case but the Mets banned him for life from all their facilities including KeySpan Park in Brooklyn and Tradition Field in Port St. Lucie, Fla., according to Brown.
I liked how the guy got $1000 & $2000 fines to win a bet to win 1 week's salary. Unless the guy is making $200K+/year, he'll end up losing money by "winning" the bet.

This is why I hate the wildcard, as even if the Rockies win the division, the Dodgers will then get the Wildcard.

If we had the old 2 division setup: Cards and Phils would be battling out in the NL East, instead of both having healthy leads. In the West, the Dodgers and Rockies would be fighting it out where ONE of them would not make the playoffs.

But the rationale is every year that the Wildcard keeps more teams in the September chase, but this years the opposite is happening. I look at the NL, and it would be more interesting if we had the OLD 2 division system.
