Re: MLB Tuesday September 8, 2009

After listening to the Rays' announcers complain for 10 minutes about the caught stealing of Carl Crawford in the 8th inning in game one, it was a pleasant surprise to be able to watch game 2 on MLB network last night. God the Rays announcers are such homers, it's sickening. Neither Staats or Kennedy had this kind of homerism until they became Rays announcers. It's just one of those things that bugs me.

As expected, those sloppy wet vaginas known as "baseball purists" are appalled at Prince Fielder's (with help from his teammates) walk-off HR celebration.

Re: MLB Tuesday September 8, 2009

That would annoy me too considering that Crawford was out and that the ump made the right call.

I thought so. They were making it seem like he was safe by a mile and that the umps were costing them the game.

I don't know what replays they showed on the Tampa feed but the YES network showed a great angle of the tag beating Crawford by a split second. It was very clear on their replay.

But realistically if the umpires had called him safe it wouldn't have been a terrible call, it was very close.

Tim Lincecum is a scratch for tonight's Giants/Padre game.

A little strategy so that Lincecum can start against both the Dodgers and Rockies next week, perhaps? Either way, I'm excited to see Bumgarner tonight.

WOW!

Bumgarner is pitching tonight????

Ohhhhhhh boy, I'm excited now! I love watching Timmy pitch, but getting a glimpse of Bumgarner will be just as nice.

Yep, too bad Posey won't be catching him though.

Should be exciting tonight. Can't wait.

"Lidge is our closer," Manuel said before the Phillies played the Washington Nationals. "You've definitely got to show confidence in him."

....Brad Lidge pulled in a 5-3 game after loading the bases with 1 out... not normally a spot where you'd pull your closer when you are trying to "show confidence in him".

Chipper saved what was soon to be an out of control 6th inning. Hope the Braves can hold on tonight.

Pujols with a 7th inning homer tonight. Holliday with a 9th inning homer off of Trevor Hoffman following a Pujols walk to take the lead. Cards win 4-3 and continue their winning ways.

Swisher nearly doubled his HR total at Yankee stadium tonight! Thank you Chicago... Betemit and 2 marginal minor leaguers for a switch hitting outfielder with 26 dingers and 87walks. I guess Chicago had plenty of offense and no need for this guy?

IIRC, the main reason they let him go so easily was because he was having issues with Ozzie Guillen. Not exactly sure what it was about but that's what I heard.

Re: MLB Tuesday September 8, 2009

Bumgarner got the full Giants experience. Pitched well, left the game with the lead, got a no decision as the bullpen gagged the game away. Welcome aboard, son.
