Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009
So in my keeper league my draft is this Sunday and the deadline to select keepers is on Wed. Here's a look at my roster from last season
QB: P.Rivers, K.Warner RB: M. Lynch, J. Addai, D. Rhodes, W. Dunn WR: R. White, B. Edwards, D. Bess, S. Breaston TE: J. Shockey, A. Fasano At the moment I have Rivers, White & Lynch selected as my keepers, which Lynch being suspended the first 3 games of the season what are the thoughts on maybe selecting Addai instead or just stick with the original 3?

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009
I would drop the RB for Edwards. I would almost be tempted to keep Warner for trade purposes.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009
If anybody sees some free compilation rankings, post them here. I know footballguys.com used to offer one and fftoday.com use to have their users do rankings and then they'd compile them and post them. They were usually pretty good. Last few years, I've gone with that as my starting point and tweaked things around a little bit.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009
I'm in a keeper league and last year was our first year. Basically we can keep up to 3 people from last year. If you keep one you lose your first round pick et al....
I got third place last year which means I will have the tenth pick out of 12 teams this year. My question is if I should keep anyone from my last year's team. No one really stands out to me enough to sacrifice a first round pick. We don't really know who is keeping what though talking to a few guys I think a handful are keeping all three. Here is the core of my roster last year. What would you do? Ronnie Brown RB Marshawn Lynch RB LenDale White RB Warrick Dunn RB Phillip Rivers QB Roddy White WR Terrell Owens WR These are basically a wide core of who I would even consider, though as I said I'm leaning towards not keeping any. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009
It's hard to tell you without knowing who's not in the draft pool. Do your rankings and then take out all the guys that you think will be protected by other owners. That should give you a better idea of whether you should keep any of these guys.

My non-keeper league draft is on Friday the 28th and as I'm doing my preparations, I was wondering if there is a free site that tells you the position players you should be targeting based on your league scoring system?

Download the free copy of Draft Dominator. It uses their own stat projections and your customizable scoring system to rank players and make draft day recommendations. Updates stat projections require a subscription, but the tool and starting projections are free. If you have the time, you can manually update the projections to match your own research, but it takes a LOT of time. http://footballguys.com/09download2.php

I just have one question in regards to setting up the scoring system in regards to yardage and was wondering if you could help me. Our league awards 1 point for every 25 yards for QB and 1 point for every 10 yards for RBs and WRs. Do you happen to know what values I need to put in order for the program to recognize this scoring? Thanks again. |

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009
Which team would you rather have in a 10 team PPR league?
QB: Tom Brady, David Garrard RB: Derrick Ward, Ray Rice, Lesean Mccoy, Fred Jackson, Willis McGahee WR: Andre Johnson, Wes Welker, Eddie Royal, Anthony Gonzalez, Chris Henry TE: Jason Witten, Vernon Davis K: Gostowski DEF: Chargers OR QB: Tom Brady, David Garrard RB: Derrick Ward, Darren McFadden, Lesean Mccoy, Fred Jackson, Willis McGahee WR: Andre Johnson, Wes Welker, Eddie Royal, Chris Henry, Davone Bess TE: Chris Cooley, Vernon Davis K: Gostowski DEF: Chargers Bold denotes starters I'm seeing if I should reach for Andre Johnson in the first, Welker in the 3rd, Witten in the 4th and Royal in the 6th to get the top PPR players. |

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009
Of the 2, i like team 1 better. Gonzalez is better than starting a backup rb. I am not convinced the Raiders have an offense yet to choose McFadden.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009
12 Team League Head to Head with Play Off system
QB: Jay Cutler, Matt Ryan WR: Steve Smith (Car), Vincent Jackson, Steve Breaston RB: Marion Barber, Steve Slaton, Mawelde Moore, Knowshon Moreno TE: Dallas Clark, Heath Miller K: Mason Crosby DEF: Miami Dolphins I have 2 open slots in my team with not a whole lot to pick from, so I may just see how the first few weeks pan out The team does have the WR/RB slot so that could prove useful One thing I'm not sure about really is Knowshon Moreno. I don't really know much about the guy. Can anyone shed some light? Is he a worthy starter or not?

I think your team has a lot of potential but with many question marks. For a 12 team draft, I think you have a pretty solid team though. Matt Ryan as your starter is nice with Cutler as a backup, and depending on the matchup you can start Cutler over Ryan. To be able to get Barber, Slaton and Moreno is very nice. The only problem is Barber will lose some work to Felix Jones and Tashard Choice. Knowshon Moreno is currently injured, but he's slated t be the starting RB for Denver in a very very crowded backfield. WR's are ok. I like Steve Smith and Vince Jackson is ok. I'd probably take a flyer on Earl Bennett if he's on your waiver wire to pair him up with Cutler. If not...just use those 2 spots for people that could break out like Troy Williamson, James Davis, Brian Robiskie, Davone Bess, etc. |

Yeah, hard to say on Moreno. I know a lot of us have been bit trying to find the centerpiece Denver back the last few years.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009
My league allows five keepers (one season only, no penalty) and starts one QB, three RB, 3 WR, TE, K, D/ST. Basically I'm trying to figure out whether to keep McNabb or Roethlisberger, and whether it's worth keeping two semi-dog WRs. Any opinions?
Current preferences: Donovan McNabb Matt Forte Kevin Smith Lee Evans (TO factor could hurt or help) Bernard Berrian (Favre factor) Also-rans: Ben Roethlisberger (relatively high pick from last year who disappointed) Chester Taylor (just in case) Donnie Avery (#1 in StL but what's that worth?) |

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009
I'd definitely keep McNabb over Big Ben. Those 5 look correct.

How did Megatron fall to the 3rd, Boldin to the 4th and McFadden tot he 7th? I do like your team though, QB is a little week since Schaub is already injured, but I like him this year. Zach Miller is decent and I know some people are really high on him, but I'm not one of them. I love the James Davis pick though. |

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009
Your RBs are pretty weak for a 10 team league indeed.
