Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009

Doh...I should have checked here instead of doing my work. I just went over to drop Bush and...possibly Hester for Sims Walker and Robinson but Sims-Walker got picked up 7 minutes ago.

I still was able to get Robinson, and will contemplate dropping Hester for Knox.

There are 2 RB spots and I have: Darren McFadden, Kevin Smith, Reggie Bush, Joseph Addai and Michael Bush

On the Waiver Wire, Laurent Robinson, Johnny Knox and Mike Sims Walker are all still available. Should I drop Michael Bush or Devin Hester....or any of my other players for one of those 3?

I guess I could dump Dustin Keller too, since I have Cooley, but I'm not sure I want to part with him yet.
Look around the league. I'd think about trading Cooley + one of your RB's and see if you can get a better RB.

Keller may not light it up, but he seems to be Sanchez's favorite target.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009

Santana Moss got dropped in my league and I don't even think he's worthy of a pickup over the top tier waivers from the past week like Sim-Walker, Manningham and Knox. Am I right?

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009

Leon Washington (vs. Ten) or Justin Forsett (vs. Chi) or Pierre Thomas (at Bills)?

My first though was Leon because the Titans haven't been stopping anyone and Forsett should be getting a ton of carries with no Hasselback... but then again, defenses will adjust. Mike Bell is hurt so this might be the week they break out Pierre but I'm not sure if he's still 100%.

I'm leaning towards Leon and that's probably the right choice, I just want to toss it up to the gallery in case anyone sees things differently.

(my other starting RBs: Michael Turner and Darren Sproles)

With the Redskins offense being touchdown anemic, you are not wrong.

The Titans haven't been stopping anyone in the AIR, but on the ground their run defense has been quite good. They're second in the league at rush defense at 49.5 yds allowed per game.

Unfortunately, your options aren't exactly great. Forsett looks like he is sharing time with Julius Jones and Edgerrin James. Thomas looks like he'll have a chance but I'd check the injury reports and see whether or not he participated in practice. Washington might have added value since the Titan special teams have been rather crappy this year.

I'd check and see whether or not Thomas looks likely to play, if not stick with Leon Washington, he might not get a lot of rushing yards but he could make up for it in the passing game and special teams.

It could be a ton of carries if they can move the ball on the ground but that's up in the air. Fortunately Forsett can catch passes too. I'd still go with Leon.

The Titans have shut down Slaton and Willie Parker so far so I don't know about Washington unless you think he'll catch some passes since, like sleepyhead said, their pass defense is what's terrible. That's a tough pick out of those three backs. I'd almost go with Forsett but he's still mostly unproven. Washington may be the safer pick.

Thanks Guys. Yeah, I'll stick with Leon. He's capable of having a big game even if the Titans don't allow many yards on the ground.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009

Who should I go with for my flex spot?

Devery Henderson @ Buf
Nate Burleson vs Chi
Steve Smith (NY) @ TB
Moreno @ Oak
Beanie Wells vs Ind

I'm leaning towards Smith since Hasselbeck may not play, Henderson's boom or bust, and the backs are young. Wells would have a favorable matchup if he got more carries and didn't fumble, and Moreno played well last week but it was the Browns.

Steve Smith. He's getting a lot of looks from Eli and vs. Tampa's secondary.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009

So i've got:

Gore
Westbrook
K. Smith
J. Stewart

to fill either 2 or 3 spots. Obv is Westbrook is out, it'll be Gore and both or Gore and 1 of the 2, where my flex position will be filled with WR.

for WR i've got Walter, Coles, Hester.

Leaning towards all RB, though.

I'd probably pick Smith over Stewart. I'd maybe consider starting Hester, but still probably would go with Smith. I cut Coles this week cause I don't think he'll ever do anything plus there were better options on the waiver wire.

Is the Chicago defense that bad this year without Urlacher? Someone just dropped them in my league.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009

Pick my last spot for a flex position.

Devery Henderson @ Buffalo
Julius Jones vs Chicago
Marion Barber vs Carolina (might not play, don't think I will wait until Monday Night for that one)
Lee Evans vs NO
Lendale White vs NYJ
Mike Bell @ Buf (looking like he won't play either)

I'd go with Henderson and think about Evans, but would still go Henderson.

I missed out on Manningham but got Laurent Robinson instead. Will probably have to start him this week.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2009

So I'm not sure what to do for week 3 at QB. My starter is McNabb who's out. Last week I went with Campbell vs. Detroit and he only gave me about 12 points. Here are my candidates this week:

Kolb vs. KC
Orton @ OAK
Leftwich vs. NYG
Collins @ NYJ
Garrard @ HOU
Campbell @ DET

Who should I use?

Either Henderson or Evans.
- Anyone can throw against NO Def
- Henderson is in there for bombs, he'll get a shot at one
