Re: The 2009-2010 Barclays English Premier League

slightly off-topic, but I know there are a few Liverpool fans on board, FSC are showing the 2 friendlies against FC Oslo (Weds at 1pm ET) and at home to Athletico Madrid on Saturday at 10am ET.

And of course on Sunday at 10am ET it is the Community Shield between Man United and Chlsea live on FSC

More Red news - Xavi Alonso to Real Shit for ~£30m.

What's gonna be left of our team?

I do. He plays (played?) for Roma. He's a very good footballer.

Re: The 2009-2010 Barclays English Premier League

Looks like Jozy Altidore is going to Hull City on a 1-year loan. He'll certainly get more playing time at Hull than he would have at Villareal:

I sure hope so but I have been reading he was injured and had surgery in may and didn't play that many games last season. Some were also saying how he won't be "hard enough" for EPL. I hope he works out for us.

The Limeys say that about every foreigner, especially those from the Latin countries.

Re: The 2009-2010 Barclays English Premier League

Aquilani looks great from the vids ive watched at least.Looks like a very creative player. My only concern is getting a guy who was already playing for his dream team but if things go well for him hopefully he and the team will be a good fit!

Re: The 2009-2010 Barclays English Premier League

Just announced - officially - EPL returns to ESPN2!

http://www.epltalk.com/breaking-news...ity-game/10090

ESPN2 has the rights to the 7:45 am ET Saturday morning game (or when there is no 7:45 am ET game,
they will show one of the 10:00 am ET games like what will happen next weekend) and the 3:00 pm ET
Monday afternoon games.

ESPN2 EPL TV Schedule for the month of August.

Saturday, August 15 - Chelsea vs Hull City - 7:45 am ET.
Saturday, August 22 - TBA - Rumor - Manchester United vs Wigan - 10:00 am ET.
Monday, August 24 - Liverpool vs Aston Villa - 3:00 pm ET.
Saturday, August 29 - Chelsea vs Burnley - 7:45 am ET.

For now the time listed is when coverage will start so no pregame show yet.
No word if they are going to have postgame either or just end coverage when
the game ends.

Link to EPL on ESPN2 TV Schedule: http://www.epltalk.com/espn-adds-pre...r-line-up/9899

Note: This schedule doesn't list the potential 10:00 am ET games.

Link to the US TV Schedule for EPL: http://www.epltalk.com/us-tv-schedul...gh-nov-09/9210

Re: The 2009-2010 Barclays English Premier League

Nice to get up again early Saturday mornings for the football.Chelsea and Hull City to kick things off.Interesting to see how much losing CRonaldo will hurt Man U and if Man Citys spending spree will put them into the top 4.

I will put my bias aside and pick Chelsea to return to the top of the table.

Re: The 2009-2010 Barclays English Premier League

Never thought i would EVER say this, but HELL of a job by ESPN (mostly for getting out of their own way...)

-Nice to see them pick up the games, especially at the late hour. The guy over at EPLTalk.com did a hell of a job keeping up with the deal.

-Keeping the original broadcast intact. English commentators, original graphics, etc.

-Only a brief 2 minute appearance by the stupid Bottom Line ticker.

-And, in sweet, sweet HD.

Props to ESPN (the world has turned upside down.)

ETA: Fucking Drogba.

Yeah.He seem to score a large number of his goals late in matches when the Blues really need to pull one out.

Arsenal=wow

Man City also impressive for 1st time out with the new "team".

I DVRd the Chelsea game and watching it in HD makes Fox Soccer Channel look like absolute garbage. Of course FSC has the rights to the Champions League now.

I was so disappointed when Everton scored in stoppage time, 6-0 looks so much better than 6-1.

Re: The 2009-2010 Barclays English Premier League

Man, I wish I would have checked this thread sooner. I knew that ESPN have picked up the Setanta stuff, but I didn't know when it would all start. Kinda gutted I missed the Chelsea v Hull game.

I'll be sure to be checking the schedule from now on, but my main thing is getting back the games that get shown on Monday nights - used to love getting them on FSC.

Should be a great game coming up at WHL...C'MON YOU SPURS!!

Re: The 2009-2010 Barclays English Premier League

Well that wasn't what I wanted to start the season, but I think it will mean that Babel shouldnt start, and yossi should.

But it's game 1.

Yeah wasn't the best start.I agree with ya on Yossi starting over Babel.Certainly missed Riera and Aurelio today but Johnson was impressive, least from an offensive standpoint.

Re: The 2009-2010 Barclays English Premier League

Spurs deserved the 3 points, although 'Pool should have had a second penalty at the end.

I still think we need a new 'keeper. Gomes makes me nervous.

That said, I still think we're good for a European finish this season and possibly a cup win

Blah outcome, but it wasn't unexpected.

Why again did Rafa send Xabi back to Spain?
