St. Louis catching a break playing Arizona while they're in a bit of a funk. And they don't have to face Haren or Webb. Hope they can take advantage and keep the momentum going before a series with Chicago this weekend.

I'm going to have to start recording headlines again for the Twins, I did that a few years ago and something like 1/2 the games would have a headline like "Joe Blow Crappy pitcher tosses gem against the Twins."

Here's hoping one of the finest broadcast voices in baseball comes through ok.

News is official. Harry Kalas has passed away after collapsing at Nationals Stadium in DC.

Sad day for Phillies fans as Harry the K was a class act adnd one of the greatest sports voices of the last 50 years.

Wow, so sad to hear about Kalas. One of the true legends of the game, just a terrible loss for such a tremendous ambassador for the sport. Even for a rival team, I'd take his announcing over just about anybody but Scully, who won't be around forever either.

I just noticed that (the no-hitter) and I've had the game on in the background on and off most of the afternoon. I think the Cubs announcers are intentionally not making a big deal of it so as not to jinx him.

Piniella just went out to pull Lilly from the game. Man, I've never seen a slower trip to the mound. Lou literally backpedaled part of the way out and then proceeded to take baby steps til he got there. Bob Brenley commented, Piniella wants to give the bullpen a little more time to get ready. You don't think?

Mark Fidrych has also died, at the age of 54. He was found beneath his truck, which apparently fell on him while he was working on it.
