What will be interesting here is if the Raiders don't convert, do they kick the FG for the win or punt to protect the tie.

I agree. I was just going to write about this subject but you beat me to it.
Don't these bone head coaches realize that the time out before the field goal doesn't work. He just made himself look like a fool today. Luckily they still won the game but not because of the coach.

Brett Favre’s estrangement from the Green Bay Packers took another bizarre turn on Sunday when a report surfaced that the team’s former quarterback helped an NFC North rival prepare to play the Packers.

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported that Favre spent 60 to 90 minutes on the phone with members of the Detroit Lions’ coaching staff prior their Week 2 game against the Packers at Ford Field — a game the Packers won 48-25.

According to the report, Favre gave the Lions a rundown of the nuances of what the Packers do on offense.
Favre apparently initiated the contact by first reaching out to then-Lions President Matt Millen, who in turn put Favre in touch with members of his coaching staff.

That means that in midst of preparing for his second game with his new team, the New York Jets, he spent time doing something that could potentially damage his old team.

“You know, I don’t respect that,” Packers cornerback Charles Woodson said. “If they call him and he gives them information, that’s one thing. But to seek a team out and feel like, I guess, you’re trying to sabotage this team, I don’t respect that. I know he’s been the greatest player around here for a long time, but there’s no honor in that.”

Reporters covering the Jets’ loss on Sunday at Oakland did not ask Favre about the report, but Favre called the report “total B.S.” in a text message to Sports Illustrated’s Peter King, who appeared on NBC’s Football Night in America pregame show. King also said he spoke to a Lions official who said, “Our coaches are perplexed. There was no coaching of our coaching staff by Brett Favre.”

The Packers traded Favre to the Jets in August after a tumultuous offseason in which he retired in March and changed his mind only to be rebuffed by the Packers.

“He says he wasn’t bitter about what happened,” Woodson said, “but obviously there is a little bit of resentment there.”

Details of the report spread quickly around Lambeau Field prior to Sunday’s 34-14 victory over the Indianapolis Colts, and it was widely discussed in the locker room after the game.

“I would say it’s disappointing,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy said. “I’m not really in tune with the whole report and so forth. (Team spokesman) Jeff Blumb told me about it earlier. I really have no comment on that stuff.”

Reaction in the locker room was varied, but few players were willing to speak out against Favre as strongly as Woodson did.

“That would be disappointing if that’s the case,” Packers center Scott Wells said. “But I try to stay removed from that. Obviously it didn’t work out too well for (the Lions). We were still able to go out there and move the ball and win the game.”

Said receiver Ruvell Martin: “If it’s true, then you’ve got to question (Favre’s) motives. But there’s not much I can do about it.”

Several players were curious about the details and the source of the report. When told Glazer reported it, at least one player seemed convinced it was true given that Glazer has broken several major stories about the Packers, including Favre’s retirement and the trade to the Jets.

Finding creative ways to gain inside information is nothing new in the NFL. Teams have long exercised the practice of signing a player who had played recently for an upcoming opponent and then quizzing that player about his former team.

“In my opinion, there’s really not too much that you can gain,” Martin said. “Our hand signals, a lot of those are on tape already. If we find out (a team) got our hand signals, for the most part we’ll try and find a way — against Minnesota last year we thought maybe (former Packers receiver) Robert Ferguson was giving them our signals — so we might give a hand signal where we do something and then change it. That’s a constant battle in the NFL, to beat them picking up on what you do, for every single team.”

Favre has since called this "total BS". But, a state reporter has his own sources confirming the story as well.

Vikings 440+ yards of offense: Check.
No Hester TDs: Check.
41 Points on offense and control of the clock: Check.

The had to have won.

And their defense was really only responsible for 17 of those 48 Bears points.

I didn't see the game, how bad were Gus' 4 picks? I'm hoping at least two of them were tips or otherwise not his fault.

I don't know which impressed me more: the fact that the Vikes scored 41 points and lost or the fact that the Bears scored 48 points period.

89 points between these teams.

Madness!

They weren't terrific. One probably wasn't his fault, and the last one was a desperation toss late in the game (not that that makes it any better.)

Seriously. If you flipped the final scores between the Lions/Vikes game and the Bears/Vikes game, it would be more believable.

The Vikes need to fix their Special Team Unit ASAP. They take a large blame for their loss yesterday.

Mike Nolan to be fired after Sunday's game. Mike Singletary will take over.

At least in my leagues, Orton was the #1 fantasy points QB this week (before MNF). Of course, Manning, Brees, Favre, and Rivers had pretty bad games, and Rodgers didn't need to throw much, but geez.

You can blame that on losing our best special teams player for the season, and "bald dumb" for getting in his punters head for no reason and him making mistakes because of it.
