Tirico, Theisman, & Kornheiser the new MNF announcers next year

I think this is a great lineup

Just heard on ESPN Radio.

Wow, Michaels got out of his contract? Im not too optimistic with these guys, but anything is better than the former ESPN guys.

So I'm guessing that Al Michaels is going to NBC? Would this be the end of PTI?

Good lineup though.

I like Tirico. He's a bit over-excited at times but at least shows enthusiasm.

Theisman I like because he's honest and knows his stuff pretty well.

Kornheiser I'm just a plain fan of. This should give the younger fans, like myself, a taste of what Howard was.

In addition, Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon will take Pardon The Interruption on the road on Mondays during the football season. The shows will air from the site of ESPN's Monday Night Football games.

Thats what I thought too.

I'm willing to bet right now that he won't be on PTI on Tuesdays.

Glad to see PTI shouldn't be changing much. It's always a downer to me when one of them (Kornheiser and Wilbon) is not on.

Wow. So they did go with the PTI "On the Road" idea. Kick ass. As long as PTI remains in tact, this is great news. Tirico is one of the best play-by-play guys in the game, and Kornheiser is one of the funniest people in all of sports. Between the two of them, they should eclipse Theismann's foolishness.

The same Tony Kornheiser that revels in his lack of sports knowledge? I'm not too excited.

Tirico = the MC, to keep things in order, to do the play-by-play.
Kornheiser = (hopefully) the voice of reason and to provide insightful explanations.
Theisman = the John Madden of the group, to add color (substance optional).

Theisman sucks, but to the other two.

Tirico is one of the best in the business, and Kornheiser one of the funniest.

Kornheiser in the booth and PTI on the road! I wonder if Stat Boy will get to tag along?

Tirico is an upgrade from Patrick, and I've never had a problem with Theisman like most do.

I've mentioned this before. I didn't become a die-hard Redskins fan until the night of his injury. His presense held me back. I couldn't stand Theisman as a player.

I guess I'm gonna have to watch all the MNF games next year even the crappy ones with Kornheiser in the booth. I would have rather seen Wilbon since I think he knows more and like what he talks about more, but he seems more like someone to do the NBA broadcast.

I'd also rather see Michaels on NBC since in addition to football duties, they can use him on their '08 and beyond Olympics coverage (who can forget his hockey calls for ABC Olympics plus he handled track/field in summer games). Too bad NBC doesn't have baseball.

His talents were wasted on NBA coverage.

Theismann seems like a good guy. I just think he's awful in the booth.

I wonder if this means Tirico and Herbstreit won't be doing Thursday night games anymore? I think they do a really good job together.

I've always been a big fan of Kornheiser, I grew up reading his columns, and he does good stuff on TV. However, to my knowledge he's never done any kind of sportscasting before, so I wonder how we will do in the booth. I am curious to find out, and I think it could be good. Hell, I didn't hate Dennis Miller at all so I'll probably like it.

Trev Alberts, Mark May, and Lou Holtz in the booth, with Pam Ward on the sidelines.

Mike Patrick is still under contract with ESPN, so my 1st guess is that you would see a Patrick/Herbstreit booth.
