So, is the Maxwell Award a consolation prize to the Heisman?

Last night Vince Young brought home the Maxwell Award as College Football Player of the Year. I haven't heard it said as such, but this award lately sounds like the booby prize given to the Heisman Runner Up if there isn't an obvious single choice that year.

I think the Maxwell is voted on by more coaches while the Heisman is purely former winners and media - correct me if I'm wrong, but that might have some impact due to the jock-riding the media's been engaged in w/ Bush this season.

Seeing Payton, Drew, and Eli on the Maxwell list makes we wonder if maybe the Heisman should be considered the booby prize for the Maxwell!
