Zito's Amazing - Who's your favorite athlete?

Barry Zito

He pitched a pretty good game yesterday (sept.19.05). He's nominated for MLB's Comeback of the year award!. I'd really like to see him win. I wish I lived in Oakland, so I could go see a game, but I don't. The thing I like the most about him is his mean curveball! I noticed that (I think it was last Tuesday) he started to use a Slider, pretty good. I think a way more brighter future awaits him. I wish him the best.

Anyway who's your favorite player? (it can be any sport)

How the hell did Zito get nominated for Comeback Player of the Year? He wasn't injured or anything. At worst Zito had a so-so year in 2004, but hardly what one would call terrible. Ironically, his raw stats this year are nearly identical to his 2004, suggesting most of his improvements (such as in ERA) are due to luck. Besides, if Zito got nominated, how would pitchers who actually sucked in 2004 like Kevin Millwood and Bartolo Colon fare? Or if you're looking for simple improvement, why not stick A-Rod in there. Cause that's about as logical as nominating Zito.

Barry Zito owes his "comeback" to me dropping him from my fantasy team. I dropped him right before his start on June 22nd when he was 3-8. Since then he has gone 11-4 and dropped his ERA from 4.66 to 3.64. I hate Zito and hope he burns in hell.

What the hell are these things? Cause apparently Mike Timlin is in the delivery man of the year award, making the cut ahead of K-Rod, Huston Street, BJ Ryan, and Eddie Guardado. Billy Wagner missed the cut too, although at least to better pitchers in the NL.

Its hard for me to place any hometown athletes in this category cuz I dont know how much i like them opposed to the team. Reggie is a guy who Ive always wanted to see succeed as long as it wasnt against Detroit.
