Predict Your Team's 2005 NFL Season

Washington Redskins

After last year's failed attempt to win the league over by bringing Joe Gibbs back on the bench and bringing in veterans like Brunell, we start the 2005 season already looking like shit. We traded our 2 receivers for 2 unproven star caliber guys. Portis / Ramsey will once again have no protection as our O line resembles swiss cheese.

The D lost some of its biggest players, and will suffer for it. Carlos Rodgers looks OK, but got burnt bad by the Bengals.

Another season of suffering for me..

Record Prediction : 3-13

I'd also like to predict Campbell getting the start after Ramsey's first "poor" game, thus further murking up the QB waters in DC.

Green Bay Packers

After last postseason's horrendous performance (4 INT), Brett Favre will continue his decline with a 10 TD, 24 INT season (including 12 absolutely stupid throws for INT). He will keep on whining about teammates, coaches, etc. but will still be seen as a God by cheeseheads. Favre will have a great game in a national TV game and will draw praises from everyone in the media especially Chris "Boomer" Berman and everyone will forget how bad his season is.
The Packers defense will finish last in the league as there have no playmakers at any position.
Ahman Green will have a nice season (1,300) marred by fumbles (7).
Brett Favre will also teach Aaron Rodgers how to make dumb mistakes and throw INT but Rodgers won't play much.

Packers finish last in their division (2-14) and will have the #1 pick but won't draft Matt Leinart because they'll think they have a stud in Rodgers not knowing that Favre has taught him how to suck. Packers take Ahmad Brooks, who will be the best player on 5 consecutive losing teams before leaving for free agency.

It sucks to be Packers fan .

Think you are off on the Packers, but that's a good read.

Seahawks will go 9-7 and they won't get rid of Holmgren, who can't coach despite the perception that he is one of the greats.

Minnesota Vikings

An improved defense and an emerging no. 1 receiver in Nate Burleson will lead the Vikings to a NFC North Division Title.

They will make it to the NFC title game but will fall short of the the Super Bowl

Record Prediction: 11-5

Double the number of wins, the niners will go 4-12, get the 3rd pick overall. Alex Smith will start sometime around week 7 when rattay gets hurt, and go 0-3 before going back to the bench.

NY Giants 9-7

This assumes Manning's elbow will be ok for the season. Assuming he continues to progress, I think they have some good offensive potential. The defense....I don't know yet.

Cowboys are basically the default team to cheer for in SA. Don't expect much from them. Some are saying playoffs, but it looks like a 7-9 season from what I have seen so far. Julius Jones is good, but the Dallas offensive line looks pretty bad.

Goes to the Super Bowl and loses, Daunte is MVP, shows that he doesn't need Moss. M. Moore is the starter after 2 games. Williamson will do decently. 5-8 TDS. Depends on how slow they bring him along. 3-4 players on Def. goes to the pro-bowl.

Predicition on the record 11-5. maybe 12-4

I'll add that they win 1 of there first 2 games rather handilly making us all think that they might actually be good (first Packers game last year).

Hard to argue with MrX logic here. I'll be happy if they somehow improve on last year record.

49ers will go 2-14 again. Get the first pick in the draft and start kicking themselves when they pass up on Leinart because they drafted Smith a year earlier.

Cardinals should be at least 8-8 or 9-7 this year. Weak division should help alot.

You think losing Moose will make that big of a difference? We've got great depth at RB, WR and DL... our secondary and OL will be significantly stronger... and Delhomme will really come into his own.

11-5, division winner, NFC Champions.

I think they have a pretty tough sched. I'd be suprised if they do better than 6-10 or 7-9.

Tampa Bay:
8-8; Another sub-par year and I think Gruden's last...

Miami:
6-10; Still no QB, but will make strides under Saban. Hopefully a QB can come along.

Seattle Seahawks 10-6, thanks to one of the lowest strength of schedules in the league.

Weeks one and two could easily be reversed. I think the'll win one of those and lose the other.

Sun, Sep 11 at Jacksonville Lose
Sun, Sep 18 Atlanta Win
Sun, Sep 25 Arizona Win one, lose one v. Arizona
Sun, Oct 2 at Washington Win
Sun, Oct 9 at St. Louis Win one, lose one v. STL
Sun, Oct 16 Houston Win
Sun, Oct 23 Dallas Win
Sun, Nov 6 at Arizona Win one, lose one v. Arizona
Sun, Nov 13 St. Louis Win one, lose one v. STL
Sun, Nov 20 at San Francisco Win
Sun, Nov 27 NY Giants Win
Mon, Dec 5 at Philadelphia Lose
Sun, Dec 11 San Francisco Win
Sun, Dec 18 at Tennessee Lose
Sat, Dec 24 Indianapolis Lose
Sun, Jan 1 at Green Bay Win

Sep. 11 @ Giants (Loss)
Sep. 18 vs Rams (Win)
Sep. 25 @ Seahawks (Loss)
Oct. 02 vs 49ers (in Mexico) (Win)
Oct. 09 vs Panthers (Loss)
Oct. 16 vs Open Date
Oct. 23 vs Titans (Win)
Oct. 30 @ Cowboys (Loss)
Nov. 06 vs Seahawks (Win)
Nov. 13 @ Lions (Win)
Nov. 20 @ Rams (Win)
Nov. 27 vs Jaguars (Loss)
Dec. 04 @ 49ers (Win)
Dec. 11 vs Redskins (Win)
Dec. 18 @ Texans (Win)
Dec. 24 vs Eagles (Loss)
Jan. 01 @ Colts (Loss)

Very easily doable. I wouldn't say their schedule is tough. Who do they play that is going to be for sure a .500 team? The Eagles, Colts, Panthers. The Eagles and Colts are at the end of the season when all the starters will be resting for the playoffs, so the Cards could sneak in a win, but it's not likely. The NFC West is going to be just as weak as it was last year, if not worse. To think the Cards (who have improved the most over any team in that division) won't break .500 is selling them short. They were in the top 3rd last year in defense, and they can only get better this year.

One thing I will put any amount of money on is the Pats NOT winning or even getting to the Super Bowl.
