Canadian Junior Hockey. The London Knights

Possibly one of the best Junior hockey teams in quite a time. And in London, Ontario where this years Memorial Cup will be held. And where they are still rolling through the playoffs.

Regular season record;
GP-Wins-losses-ties: 68-59-7-2 for 120 points - .882 winning percentage
GF/GA: 310 - 125

Those 7 losses include resting a bunch of players the last 2 games which they lost. They set a Junior hockey record by going undefeated their first 31 games to start the year. They pummelled a lot of people this year. They went 8-0 in the first 2 rounds of the playoffs and are up 2-1 in the third round.

They have never made the Memorial Cup before but are there automatically because they are hosting this year. It has been a great relief to many people due to the NHL strike. My they have been playing like beasts. We're pretty damn proud, no matter how the year ends.

The Humboldt Crabs have been consistently good for many years. They're one of the better semi-pro baseball teams.

Humboldt State University also has a couple of good programs going; Men's Basketball and I believe women's softball (or soccer).

the only truely local teams are high school teams, The Football team made the state semis last season/

Knights are awesome, I love Corey Perry. They should beat Ottawa. I am so hoping for a Knights vs Ocieanic memorial cup finals. Would love to see Sidney Crosby rip it up as usual.

Well it is May 27/2005. The Knights qualified for the Finals on Sunday. Rimouski and Ottawa will be playing Saturday for the right to play them. We had Gretzky, Scotty Bowman and everyone in town last night for the game between Ottawa and London that we won 5-2.

And yesterday while walking downtown with my son we ran into the Stanley Cup, outside the rink.

First Place in the California League (Class A) at 29-18

San Jose Giants play 2 blocks away from me. (yet I haven't been to a game in 12 years).

I just moved here and will surely go sometime this summer.

Yeah, I live even closer now, maybe 3-4 miles away. I've never been to a game, but have been meaning to go.

I believe the Jet is there because the whole Lancaster space/plane thing. Like Lockheed is here, and McDonnell Douglas I think, and Boeing. They built the space shuttles here also. Two of the streets were renamed for shuttles, Challenger, and Columbia.
