What's crazy is that its breaking news and the headline on CNN.

I love how he has raised the profile of the sport in the US, but I fear for the future of cycling without Lance, or at least its popularity here.

Same. We already cannot get the Giro and the Vuelta here, I fear the Tour sans Lance will be next.

Even worse, he'll have to find a way to do it without Eki, who was trying to get the record for most starts in Le Tour. Won't do it now, as he has a spinal injury received on a ride about 20 miles from where I live, SE of Austin.

The odd thing is that I thought Lance was already in Europe (albeit Seville, iirc) for his pre-Tour training. I remember the local news coverage when he left.
