Mods can put this in the RAW preview too if they want
I call bullshit...only because there is no chance in hell!

The Raw Preview:

Evolution's Batista won the 2005 Royal Rumble, giving him the right to fight in the main event of WrestleMania 21. Now, Batista must decide. Will he choose to face World Heavyweight Champion and fellow Evolution member Triple H? Or will Batista go the other way and challenge SmackDown's JBL for the WWE Championship? Watch RAW for more on this developing story.

Before winning the Rumble, Batista was the target of Ric Flair. "The Dirtiest Player in the Game" tried to sneak behind Batista and eliminate him from the match. Flair was obviously unsuccessful. But will Batista let "The Nature Boy" off easy? Watch RAW to find out.

Also at the Royal Rumble, Edge gained some extra leverage from the ropes to defeat the legendary Shawn Michaels. Will this be the end of this long rivalry? Or will HBK demand retribution for what appeared to be a tainted victory for Edge?

All this and more on Monday Night RAW (Spike TV, 9/8 CT)

One other thing.....I believe the most amount of matches on Raw has been 6..

They went way too predictable with the results. I just wish that one year, once, we'd get an absolute shock win at the Rumble. If they had given it to Cena this year, that would have been close.

The problem with the Rumble of recent years, is that they have set it up way too much so that you know exactly who is going to win. In 2001, you had Austin coming back from his big injury, so you knew he'd get the win. In 2002, it was HHH's return from the quad injury, and again, you knew he was going to get the nod. In 2003, you had Lesnar's storyline where he was screwed out of the belt by Heyman, and the only way he could get another title match was to win the rumble.

Even Benoit winning last year was pretty much expected, but not as predictable as the last few years, and Batista's win tonight. I do like the idea that they are going to tease a possible Batista move to Smackdown, so they can keep up an idea that something unexpected could happen.

The setup of Angle/Michaels for Wrestlemania was good, and they could blow the roof off Staples Center.

As for Cena being the runner up, they did that because they need to setup JBL's next feud. Sure, they could give Eddie another shot, but Smackdown needs to have its big names built up, and Cena is on the verge of becoming a main eventer. Angle will be busy with Michaels, and the Big Show is getting one last shot at JBL at No Way Out (barbed wire steel cage), so Cena would seem to be the best option, although he might have to drop the US belt (My guess is that Orlando Jordan will get a win with help from JBL).

So it did sound like a good rumble, and unlike the opinion of some, there was at least one bad Rumble match, and that was in 1999. The one where Vince and Austin were 1 and 2, and spent 95% of the match outside of the ring. That one was just awful. Of course it also had that classic I Quit Match between Rock and Foley, so that more than made up for it.

Sorry to come across as redundant (see post #3 of this thread) - but as long as the Rumble match is for a title shot at WM, there's a very good chance that it will always be predictable.

Yeah, that ruins it somewhat. I'd like to see someone like Shelton Benjamin pull an upset, but there is no way he's headlining WM at this point.

Two years in a row I pick Cena to win the RR, and called it wrong. I guess I really can't see him.

The PPV overrall was very enjoyable.

Vince falling on his ass and staying there

Enough with the ties in the Rumble, kthx.

Casket match was just so predictable, stupid, and a waste of time. Everyone involved in that match should either retire or be fired. kthx.

But isn't that what KOTR is for?

TheKing: nice comments. I too wish there would be a shock victory for the rumble. I enjoyed Raw in the early days, like when the unknown "123 Kid" defeated "Razor Ramon" in a shock upset. Surprises like that are no more.

Similarly, I fear some predictability if Batista goes after Hunter's title.

I have a feeling tonight's raw will go down like this:

Batista will need to make a decision about what title he wants a shot at by the end of Raw. Hunter/Flair will confront Batista, tell him he should go for JBL's title so that "evloution will have a presence/control on both raw and smackdown!" He won't commit, but at the end, he'll say he wants Hunter's title and boom, Hunter/Flair's faces are all shocked, the crowd will cheer, etc.

I don't watch Smackdown that much, so I just thought Cena was already a main eventer. It would definitely make sense if he wins the wwe title. Also, as much as I like batista, he needs to be built up more, so his win down the road will mean more. I think Wrestlemania is too soon (sort of like Orton's win last year which i think was at summer slam).

I thought the casket match was entertaining. I was hoping Mysterio would win the Rumble, now that'd be something different.

Kinda disappointed that there were no "surprise" entrants this year...but the PPV was ok. I wonder if Paul London is ok

Snitsky v kane in a cage

michaels and orton v HHH and flair
