White Sox Vs Cubs Series
So who else is waiting for another great series...
The white sox really need this matchup, they norm stumble into this point, beatup on the cubs, then play well again, until they fold in the end ![]() I'm going to the game at comisky er.. the Cellular One, and then going the game on the 4th at Wrigley. Any predictions? I expect the Sox to take 4 out of 6 for the whole series.. With the win over Prior tommorow to start it off.. I also expect Valentin to hit at least one game winning homer as norm against the cubs. Let's speak of Chicago otters, and enjoy the fun series.. Excited that the cubs are actually throwing out your aces.. for once. To bad Buerhle isn't picthing although.. he has be terrible as of late..Let's go Sox and even more general Chicago baseball. |

if we come out winning the series i'll be happy, but a split would be a just as good considering how we've been playing lately.
just hope we can gain some ground on the twins before the break. GO SOX!! |

Cubs are in a funk...they are playing like the Cubs of old. Should be fun and enjoy the game SB. I will not be going to any of these games (don't know why either).
So I'll start it...Sox Suck-Go Cubs ![]() |

Go Sox, I'm at work 2 hours early so I can get out and watch this game. Two #1 Cub picks squaring off today.
No Maggs this series. He's not as big a cub-killer as Carlos Lee, but he's still going to be missed. Prediction: Sox take 2/3 at home, Cubs take 1/3 at Wrigley. Let the Cub tailspin begin! Last edited by rabbit77; 06-25-04 at 07:29 AM. |

Thank god for summer hours . . . off work at 1:00. Got a dinner riding on the Sox for the overall series (hello Ruth's Chris!).
[obnoxiously loud fan too close to the crowd mikes]LET'S GO WHITE SOX![/fan] |

Derek Lee has been on a tear the last two weeks. Have you checked out his numbers?

Yeah no maggs, hoping he'll somehow come back next weekend for a suprise return and great few games. As long as lee and valetin are around I like the sox chances. Maybe Olivo can hit another 1st inning slammer like he did off Clement last year.. What a shelling that was. I wonder if they'll pitch to get to sammy. I know they did last year, and it paid off big time, he struck out more then once in the series with the bases juiced and 1 out. That's unforgettable, not the k, but the k with bases loaded, plus add i the fact it was loaded because they walked to get ot him. I would do it again this year, since he's just coming back still.. D Lee and Alou are def zoning right now, heck Alou is having a career year.. SHould be a fun series, and hopefully competitive all games, with the sox sweeping all 6 (they seriously shoudl have last year..)More importantly, lose already twins.. |

Good grief. The sox look like a little league team.. 2 dropped popups? 1 bad throw to 1st allowing the guy who was on because of an error get to third
![]() Then allowing both runners who got on becuase of errors score because of a homer.. terrible. Then a run on a possed ball, well at least both teams got a run because of passed balls. ha Sloppy out there.. Sox always give away games to the darn cubs.. At least it's not over the cubs bullpen has been giving up runs to the sox today... Let's go sox!!! Oh, anybody else see, that the sox's starter tommorow is out because arm problems, so now a guy from AAA is going against Zambrano. ha talk about a favorable matchup for the cubbies ![]() Cubs win round 1. Lots of runs of errors, but give credit to the cubs for winning the game. + The sox made the cubs get into their bullpen with their closer going more then an inning. - Sox have to start a AAA, because the guy who was suppose to go can't ![]() Last edited by SpaceBoy; 06-25-04 at 06:10 PM. |

Jon Garland=mental midget
If Ozzie puts Gload out in the field at any position besides 3rd base he's an idiot. He was awful out there today. Hopefully Diaz can come through tommorow but I'm not holding my breath

Anybody else really not like the Sox announcers, I can't wait to get Steve Stone and Chip Carray back.

![]() Hawk and DJ aren't the best, especially since they hate each other, but come on; Chip is 1000X worse then Hawk. Most of the Cub fans I know hate his guts.

I grew up listening to Hawk so he's my guy. DJ puts me to sleep. But yeah, I don't know anyone on either side of town that likes Chip Caray.

Huge win today and nice to see Felix Diaz step up
it would have been nice to see them execute with runners on base instead of relying on the longball but I'll take it. Shingo is the man , imagine if Ozzie would have used him after Koch's first few crappy outings instead of waiting

I really thought this was almost a sure loss given the pitching matchup. Way to go Felix and Sox, way to hit against Zambrano. Got his pitch count way up, 128 in just six innings. I'm just waiting for this team to take off when Mags gets back.
