Maybe today the Red Sox can get a decent start. I would hope for a Red Sox sweep against KC, but Lowe is pitching Sunday.

Nomar is still on track to play Tuesday!

Reposting from yesterday's thread to catch anyone that might be interested......

BASEBALL FANS IN BOSTON..........

From Joe Sheehan of Baseball Prospectus:

Quote:
Two years ago, I was fortunate to be part of BP's first-ever Pizza Feed in Boston, this during the Society for American Baseball Research's annual convention. Boston is a tremendous baseball town, albeit one with its energies directed towards the wrong team (kidding, folks), and the event was a rousing success.

I'm happy to announce that we're doing it again. On June 24, there will be a Pizza Feed at the Pizzeria Uno on Commonwealth Avenue in Allston. The specifics will go up on the Events page before the week is out, but if you're a Boston baseball fan looking to spend a good night talking baseball, this is a date to circle on your calendar.

Specifics:

Quote:
Boston Pizza Feed
Thursday, June 24, 6:00 PM
Pizzeria Uno, Allston (Commonwealth Ave. at Harvard Ave., on the Green Line B train)
1230 Commonwealth Ave
Allston, MA 02134-4229

BP writers Joe Sheehan and Nathan Fox will be on hand, with additional guests TBA. Space is limited -- please RSVP ASAP to nathanfox@msn.com
You Boston people should go. I went to one in LA a month ago, and it was great talking baseball with these guys.

Damn, the series in PNC is over - the Cardinals need to play there more often.

Houston is in town, baby - too bad Clemens won't be pitching for his first loss here.

Softball results from yesterday: (el schorcho style)

Kitten Kats, less points, other team, more points

win: old lady
loss: Bill (who was either too drunk or not drunk enough)

DaveNinja: 2 for 2

My right hand was still hurting so i batted next to last. I could hardly throw the ball, luckily the only time i had to is when we had a lady in a pickle between 2nd and 3rd. i threw it to second while chasing her back and over threw the 2nd basewoman, luckily she had back up, but the lady still made it to 3rd base.
The other team was pretty sucky but we were worse. Now we're 1-1-1 (last 1 is from a tie game)

nobody cares about stories in MLB threads. We want stats, line scores, etc.

The one I went to, the pizza was free, and alcohol was prohibited since the event was held in a bookstore.

Email Nathan Fox and ask him directly. If you plan on going, you need to RSVP with him anyway. I'd expect the pizza to be free (or at least some of it), but not the beer.

The Bartman incident was too much for him to handle. He becomes the next Rick Ankiel.

Either that, or we find out that he faked the injury. His explaination: "It was the only way to keep Dusty from pitching me 300 innings this year."

Now only for Wood to come back soon so Dusty can finally implement his 2-man rotation.

Hopefully the Mets can beat the Marlins again to move up another game and win their 5th straight.

With Trachsel pitching at home, I like our chances.

Perfect through 4 for Prior - too bad the Cubs can't and won't get any across. Josh Fogg is just too strong a pitcher.

52 pitches through 4 (with 5 Ks). With my luck, he'll leave after 6 with a hit after about 85 pitches, with the Cubs tied 0-0, who will then win 2-0.
