my recent (yesterday

) download of smallball isnt working so I cant do anything until I can fix it. Of course, those idiots I work with think Im computer smart, so I had to stay later than usual; and speed down a 30 mph road only to make it by 5 minutes before they closed the gate. Anyway, i only have time to write you my excuse and set my yahoo fantasy baseball lineups - I prolly missed that cutoff too.

Alright. This is getting pointless. My team sucks terrible bad. I mean, I lost to Bow Down for Christ's sake.

So, can someone give me pointers on how to train properly? Keep in mind that my team is fairly solid in fielding, my guys throw 160-170 feet consistently, my pitcher is in the 110 mph range when trained, and my contact hitting just plain sucks still.

Can someone give me ideas on a training schedule. I'd appreciate it.

sounds like you are in that zone where you go from winning by hitting alot of weak ground balls in the gap, to when you can actually hit it out of the park

in the mean time.. youll lose alot of games because your guys will just be strong enough to hit it to the outfielders in the air

Do you do "blanket" training, or "targeted" training? I would suggest the blanket type of training at this stage of your team, but that's just me.

As for Contact, the general consensus is to train your team until they all can hit 80% in the cage, save perhaps for one or two stragglers who will never hit that high. Many do not train power until their players can all hit @ 70% in the cage at least.

Today, four guys ran, four hit contact, and four threw.

Keep in mind that there is not "one" right way to train and that you can and will get many different opinions, even in here. But I would suggest again that you train one skill for the entire team, save for your pitcher. It seems a much quicker way to increase one's star level, at least until 8 or even 9 stars.

One reason I do the "break it up" style of training is that I train at work. When I train one skill for the entire team, it takes FOREVER. When I last trained fielding as an entire team, it took about an hour. That's way too long.

But if that would help...

Train them all the same until you get to 9*.

And I would recommend a rotation of a bat skill, then a defensive skill.

Monday - contact
Tuesday - catch
Wednesday - skill
etc

UNLESS....they already have good defensive skills...maybe it's time for you to just rotate the batting skills.....contact one day, skill the next, power the next....and so on like that.....

So what's the difference between:

training all 12 guys in one skill on one day until each skill is trained then starting over

and

training 4 guys on one skill/ 4 guys on one skill/ 4 guys on one skill, then rotate to another skill each day until each skill is trained
