Which leads me to a question. If I signed up last night for the trainer and used the code on my girlfriend's computer, am I able to enter the same code into the smallball app running at my house for my team? Meaning is DT team specific, no matter if I run it at more than one place? Otherwise, what would happen when I bought a new PC?

Couldn't find that answer anywhere...
DT is team specific, it will be automatically be downloaded to any PC that you use to log into your team.

Oh, I can't get into my team either.

the code is registered with your username, not with the local software..
so regardless which computer your on, or if you reinstall.. DT will always be available, after you first enter your code

I agree with what others have said about being prepared to play 24/7. The previous system seemed to work fine.

....but I had a fielding day yesterday when I pummelled you. Today I was going to train all out in power and commence the pummelling. The two are very distinct kinds of pummelling.

...and if I were still any good, it might actually be impressive!

I agree too on 24/7 ! For the Pro League we have to be available that way. I think the league should run on Pacific Time, happy medium between Hawaii and the East Coast....

No way would that work. I've improved my pitcher since then! He now consistently no longer pitches in the 35mph range! You'd have trouble keeping up with my 43mph fastball!

you just made 2 seperate statements

if we go 24/7, then the league is not running on any timezone.. and all is happy

if you have deluxe trainer.. and have used a full pie on your pitcher and he went from 35 to 43mph
I would suggest looking for a different pitcher
you should notice much larger jumps then that at first.. it should only take you a couple (2 or 3) full pies to get the correct pitchers up to 80-100mph.

Not necessarily - if we continue to have league "days", then we obviously have to have a starting and ending time for that day.

That said, since everyone knows when the day starts and ends they should know when to have their guys in and not complain if they lose when they don't.

I mean none of the "don't play me because my subs are in at certain times" for the 24/7 statement and Pacific time for the EOD deadline to submit games.

i dont believe we can use pst for the EOD deadline.. because I believe smallball is using EST.. so then you have an issue of the games possibly not showing up as being played on the correct day

not that its a big issue.. but this is part of the reason why we have used the current system.

while we wait.. did everyone see this writeup, about the trainer monkey?

Quote:

Imagine you had a monkey who would train your team for you. All you would have to say is, "Hey monkey, train all my players in running today!" Then the monkey would open the standard trainer and give everyone long sweeping drags to get some running in. Your monkey could train your team just as you say. If you had such a monkey, would you be a cheater?

Or how about this: You're filthy rich, like Bill Gates. You have a butler named Jeeves. You could say, "oh Jeeves, old chap, would you mind giving the boys some batting practice and when your done please wash the Ferrari, the monkey and I want to go for a ride..." You'd be spoiled (and lucky) but would you be a cheat because you employ Jeeves to train your team?

I say no but lets go back the monkey.

You wouldn't be a cheater if you had such a monkey. But others may say that it is unfair that you had the monkey and they didn't.

Lets really take the monkey idea a bit further: The monkey would do as you say, roughly. Day after day they would train your teams while you indulge in other pastimes. However, over time the monkey might not realize that your shortstop is starting to drop 'em like hot potatoes. The monkey might not even care that your catcher runs as fast as a snail with a brick on its back.

To prevent the monkey from using your TP inefficiently you will need to direct him every day. Also you will need to observe your players in action to determine where the next pies should go. And you will need to decide who to play and when. Basically you would need to train and manage your own team, just like everyone else.

So, even if you had a monkey that could train your team for you, YOU still would have to manage your team, and decide where their training potential is best spent. The monkey, while convenient and admittedly cool, really doesn't make you a cheater. He is just a tool and you're still the manager. Knowing where to burn your TP for each player is the KEY to player growth. And to do that correctly doesn't take a monkey or even the Deluxe Trainer, it takes you KNOWING your team.

NEXT SEASON: How to make your own Trainer Monkey. Really!

Yep, but I just got it last night. So I haven't gotten everyone a rotation at pitching... All things I have to work out.

I don't know about Smallball's time zone because their office is located here:

AndNow LLC, 213 San Mateo Rd - Half Moon Bay, CA 94019

Smallball is a CA company and may very well run on Pacific Time.

a word of advice.. dont train anyone at anything except pitching until its clear who your two top pitchers are..
use the entire pie to get every single player to pitch, for the first couple days.. it might hurt you a little to start.. but it will be a huge help in the long run.
and since it takes some time to train every single player at pitching.. you can just setup their schedule to have them all use their entire pie at pitching.. then start up autotrain, and walk away... after only a couple pies.. 2 pitchers will be head and shoulders above the rest.
