I ordered the Armor edition and received it launch day. On level 7 and having fun. Very similar to 4 but a little different.

I haven’t had to join anyone online yet

Re: Fallout 76 - (PS4, XB1, PC)

I’m enjoying it. It’s kind of pointless, but I love the whole Fallout setting, so just exploring a new place in the Fallout setting is pretty cool to me. Playing solo, plus the fact that I suck, makes it a good amount of challenging for me. I can get through most things if I’m slow and careful.

it was reference to the fact you mentioned someone needs to start this thread and I already had started the last 'newest' one with AC: Odyssey....which some pointed out that I didn't and probably wasn't getting right away. And looks like the Odyssey thread is doing fine....plus the fact I've started a good share of threads and I was hoping someone would start one on FO76.

Not that it really matters, but I don't see why anyone would care who starts what threads or how many they've created as long as it's generating discussion and not spamming. And I have no idea what you mean by continuing to say the "thread is doing fine" since that seems like a good reason to start a thread for a game.

Re: Fallout 76 - (PS4, XB1, PC)

Only 2 1/2 stars here - https://attackofthefanboy.com/review...out-76-review/

Fallout 76 is a bold experiment with one of gaming’s biggest and most beloved franchises. Unfortunately the experiment seems like a failure so far. Bugs and glitches are everywhere, but worse is that the core principles of design just don’t function the way they seem like they should. Concessions had to be made in all facets of the experience to make multiplayer work, and sadly the benefits do not outweigh the costs. If you have a good group of dedicated players that will help you dig into the deeper, higher level parts of the game then it starts to grow into something unique and fun. Without that though, most players will abandon the game long before the more interesting elements develop.

I just look at it as new Fallout content. It’s fun to mess around for an hour or so. I don’t feel lonely or anything. I love it. No bugs on my end.

I've played three times after the game released and about three times with the beta....

The Combat Mechanics have been an issue each and everytime...stuttering, delay, sometimes the Ghouls seem to move faster in some cases with using guns. Melee so far nothing.

From reading the official board the main issues are the Stash/Inventory and too much emphasis on health, food and drink, needing it way too much, too often, too much part of your stash along with it can spoil and that too seems to be too fast. Seems like half your Perks need to be tied to Health, Food and Drink in use and weight management.

Collecting and selling appears to be useless since you're getting 1-2 caps here and there...which why bother when you have a Stash/Inventory issue. items you may need though command a nice chunk of Caps..like some plans around 120 or Stimpacks which you seem to use more than finding them.

Still feels like a massive expansion from Fallout 4...same buildings, cars, crafting, weapons, armor, guns, Chems and even the music.....just a more colorful Fall Backdrop in most areas...some, not so....they did do a good job on capturing the setting and environment especially in the Toxic Lake areas.

For me though, I wish they had made it possible for those who play solo to have say..."Dogmeat"...as a fill in or since it appears Robots survived a "Codsworth". It is a huge wasteland so-to-speak and with just 24 Human NPC's....it can get a bit lonely out there. I'm playing it and trying hard to like it just like three other friends are. We all have a We Like It but Don't Like attitude right now but the game is new and supposedly a patch is for Monday. But last one was mainly for PC technical and exploits so we'll see.

It's gotten probably the worst reviews for any AAA game this year so they're just trying to sell copies at this point.

Re: Fallout 76 - (PS4, XB1, PC)

Is it worth it for $40? Is the game fixable? IIRC No Mans Sky started out bad at launch but it’s pretty good now.

Re: Fallout 76 - (PS4, XB1, PC)

I'm thinking why the reviews are bad, is perhaps the people were expecting a different type of game.

The game is fine. The push to eat and drink so damn often is not.

I would say yes in a way or hoping for a Fallout 4 World that was upgraded, improved, looked like & played like a Current Gen Game you could play with friends. 76 feels more like a massive Fallout 4 expansion with 85% of it "Copied & Paste" from Fallout 4, the saturation levels increased, a more colorful Fall Backdrop added. And Settlers, Traveling Traders, Store Merchants, Companions, Brotherhood of Steel, Railroad with all their stories, talk, chatter, converstions taken away and replaced by 24 Human NPC's on a map four times the size of Fallout 4 while trying to mesh PvP and PvE together using a outdated Creation Engine.

I know and seen several who are loving the game but you could easily find 1-3 behind them that says otherwise. One look at the official 76 Forum at Bethesda and anyone with half-a-brain can see why not a single review has been over 6/10. And it's not limited to an area here and there. The issues/complaints cover a wide spectrum....Not enough PvP...Not enough PvE...Not enough Players...Stash Limits...The CAMP...Armor...Weapons...too much emphasis on Health, Food and Drink needing constant attention or weighing too much....Techincal & Bugs everywhere...

When I go back and play AC: Origins, Warframe, Elder Scrolls Online and just fired up God of War last night...I just cannot bring myself to go back to 76...the reviews pretty much cite what I experienced or lack of. I hope the game can come around but good grief, not even a month after release and $20 off, negative reviews everywhere and insane huge patches. One can only imagine a month, 3 months, 6 months later....

Re: Fallout 76 - (PS4, XB1, PC)

There is nothing fine about the game. Terrible frame rate issues and constant stuttering. I have had the game freeze multiple times “server lost, all controls paused momentarily”. “Server lost” and it starts over. And I’ve been in the middle of missions and sides and been 98% done and it’s made me start from the beginning “military recruit”. Blah. I mag put it off for a while until an update happens
