Uriah Heep is back with a new song, Grazed By Heaven, and an upcoming album in September, Living The Dream.

The new song is actually pretty shocking - this is one of the most energetic songs of their career, and these guys are all in their mid 60's to early 70's! (Except the drummer, Russell Gilbrook, who's the youngster in the band at 54!) This song is the kind of thing I hoped that Deep Purple would be capable of doing on their latest album, but weren't. Purple is still a great band, but the energy level dropped a lot on their latest album (inFinite). A couple high energy songs and a couple songs with stronger hooks would have helped that one.

But this song has the energy, some amazing riffwork, and a memorable, powerful chorus. It's back to the style of Wake the Sleeper and Into the Wild (both great albums).

The new album was produced and engineered by Jay Ruston, who's worked with Stone Sour, the Winery Dogs, and Anthrax recently.

Without a doubt, this is my pick for album of the year. It makes up for the disappointment of the last Deep Purple album, inFinite (which wasn't bad, just not all that good, either).
