Interesting mix, although it doesn't really feel like the touted "entire collection" is on sale (their boast of "biggest sale ever featuring every brand on site!" is clearly open to interpretation ). Might take advantage of some of those low DVD prices to check out some stuff that isn't so high on my gotta-own list.

re: Huge Kino Lorber sale - through 6/26/18

As I write, their site is performing at the speed of light

EDIT: After perusing the first few pages, am out. Most of these in the BD format have been available in their periodic sales for much lesser (the $11.98 titles have been $8.98 and even $7.99 earlier). Its only some of the DVDs that are priced low. I like their optimism in that they expect titles to sell out

Sale ends on June 26 not June 16. Perhaps a monitor can change the thread title.

Here is a link to just those films that are 70% or more off.

Most 70% (if not all) discount applies to DVDs only. BDs are about 50% to 60% off

Yeah, am I missing something? I thought everything was on sale this go 'round, from all groups. I'm only seeing 9 pages, and it
s about a big a sale size-wise as we usually get (a select group of titles). Or am I doing this wrong?

All the Blu rays on sale for $8.99 are 70% off the $30 list price. They are the majority of the blu rays I linked to above so I am not sure why you are saying the 70% mostly refers to DVDs. Almost all blu rays are on sale only a group are 70& off.

WAAAAAAAAAH. I just found out today of an upcoming car repair bill that's going to run between $400-$1100. Probably going to kill me off on this one........

Re: Huge Kino Lorber sale - through 6/26/18

Wow, alot of the "Studio Classics" were cheaper in the last few sales. And I'm finding them in the more heavily discounted 55-70% off sections.

These prices aren't that great. I don't know if they raised the list prices for this sale, or if they were ridiculously high to start with. So far pretty disappointed; though I'll probably find $50 to agonize over!

Re: Huge Kino Lorber sale - through 6/26/18

It may be my memory, but I'm also thinking (& have been for awhile) that Kino's licensing has expired on many of their better titles. It really seems that most of their complete catalog is the "Studio Classics", many of which are mediocre titles.

The 2 I was hoping for true Blow out prices on was the complete Lang silents blu box & the Outer Limits S1 blu box. To me, the sale price would be a fair list price on those 2.

Turns out the whole site IS on sale, but they didn't really do much to organize it in any way. Those 9 pages, as others have pointed out, are just the titles with the steepest (supposedly) discounts on one format or another. I received another email blast last night stating that the sale includes over 2500 titles, which is probably closer to everything, and the prices do seem to be in the 50% range, but there are a lot of titles people probably don't pay much attention to most of the time in light of the repeat Studio Classics sales. So the deals are there, sort of . . .

It would be nice if KL someday offered more intuitive sorting options (price low to high, company label, more results per page, etc.)

Re: Huge Kino Lorber sale - through 6/26/18

My best option so far has been to click on the "more" (or "More info") box which opens a box with everything in categories and look in each category. It's a real slog, though.

Yeah, I looked at everything last night. I agree it takes awhile.

Yeah, I started out thinking I could sit this one out. Now I'm up to nearly $200 in the cart. Gotta cut that down . . . somehow . . .

Re: Huge Kino Lorber sale - through 6/26/18

Any way some of our forum experts can compile a set of 'best value' titles from this sale, based on their frequent tracking of KL prices ? TIA

Re: Huge Kino Lorber sale - through 6/26/18

Not sure if these are "best values", but I'm considering

The Scar 11.98
The Falcon and the Snowman 10.48
Santa Claus Conquers the Martians 12.48
Night People 10.48
Bird of Paradise 11.98

with The Satan Bug as an alternate.

I wish They Made Me a Fugitive and The Chase would drop below the $13 level. These have possibly been on my wish list the longest.

Couple more to the list of 'best values':

Dr. Mabuse: The Gambler
The Blue Angel - Deluxe Edition

Also, just in case you have this collection 'The David O. Selznick Collection', 'Bird of Paradise' is included in it

Thanks for the tip. Ah, decisions... I'm guessing $49.98 for the Selznick set is about as low as it goes? This certainly beats Amazon's historical pricing and DD's current price.

Precisely. That was my intent on inquiring on 'best value' titles. The Selznick collection is totally worth it at this price

I had this in my cart as well last night but looked around on the web; there's a review on Amazon that mentions that some of the music was removed/altered (rights issues?) and other reviews at other sites have mentioned that it's not much of an upgrade visually if you already own the DVD. Not sure if you're region-free but there are some other editions available in the UK and France but I couldn't tell you if they're any better; Germany is set to release their own edition in October of this year, so I can wait and see if it's a new/improved transfer with 5.1 track (all current editions have 2.0 despite a 5.1 being available).

I bought the following instead:

[Blu-ray] Across 110th Street $10.48
[Blu-ray] The Wrong Guy $8.99
[Blu-ray] The Long Riders (2-Disc Special Edition) $11.98
[Blu-ray] Cotton Comes to Harlem $10.48
[Blu-ray] The Mercenary - aka A Professional Gun (Il mercenario) $11.98
[Blu-ray] Avenging Force $11.98
[Blu-ray] Legend of the Mountain $11.98
[Blu-ray] Sabata $11.98

Wasn't planning to get the above (majority are DVD upgrades) but on the other hand knocked quite a few titles off my Amazon wishlists.
