Looks like a full on remake rather than a remaster job like Zero and 1. =)
I just hope it isn't a PS4 exclusive and makes it's way to PC.

Resident Evil 2 is the game I've revisited the most over time and I still consider it my top game. Not sure how I feel about a remake. If they keep the core story there and add to it (within reason) I'll be excited. If they include more bullshit story like what started with that god awful RE4 (yes I know, I'm in the minority) this will be massively disappointing. I'll be intrigued by reviews because this could make me pick up a PS4 again (well this and Last of Us 2)

I'm not a fan of the change in game play. I'd rather have a remaster, but we'll see as it gets closer to release date.

Re: RESIDENT EVIL 2: Xbox One / PS4 / PC - January 25, 2019

I welcome a gameplay update. Back in the day I was never fond of the "tank-like" controls of the first 3 RE games. Which was one of the major reasons RE4 became one my favorite in the franchise.

I love the gameplay of Revelations 2 though, and if they utilize that for RE2 Remake, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I did not like RE7, and I couldn't even play it for more than a few minutes at a time before getting motion sickness and that was with the wobble turned off n stuff.... The game just wasn't for me.

Well at least we know who it took so long. Complete Remake. I still would love a remaster of 2 and 3 to go with the first one. Maybe someday.

I'm also a little let down with the change, but I will remain silent until I see how they changed certain fixed camera angles.

Let's hope it's good.

Are you talking about the original Resident Evil or the remake that came out for the GameCube? I don't think the original was ever remastered but the remake was, along with Resident Evil Zero (they were released in that "Origins" collection last year).

The GC "remake" was essentially the same game as the original with added story elements and improvements that were originally cut from the PS1/PC release. I view it as the definitive version of RE 1.

This version of RE 2 is more in line with a darker RE 4.

So how does this play? Loose or stiff? Typical third-person?

From the impressions I've read and watched on Youtube, it's essentially RE4, but Leon feels heavier.

Re: RESIDENT EVIL 2: Xbox One / PS4 / PC - January 25, 2019

“Players will be able to play on Xbox One X and PS4 Pro in 4K," Capcome Brand Manager Mike Lunn informed Gaming Bolt. "But if you choose to play in 4K you won’t be able to play at 60 frames per second. So it will run at 30 FPS. It is a stable [framerate].”

Lunn didn't explain if the 4K resolution is native or checkerboard, nor did he detail whether Resident Evil 2 will run at a resolution of 1080 or 720 when players choose the 60fps option. He also declined to share what the framerate will be on standard Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles.

I'll be playing the PC version. Hopefully it can play 4K at a high stable fps.

Or I need to purchase PlayStation or they should also create a PC Dvd too. Looks like something interesting!!!

The save music from RE2 is my favorite in the series, hoping they keep the mood the same. It's like yes nothing can hurt you in here, but outside that door something is waiting to hurt you.

oop well looks like it is in the demo, but I can't hear it too clearly.

What do you mean "Leon feels heavier"? if this brings back memories of my probably 2nd favorite of all-time in RE4, then i'd be so happy...

If you've played RE4 a lot, you tend to notice that Leon is pretty quick. He controls and moves a lot faster than other games designed in a similar manner. When it comes to RE2R, Leon has been described as slower/heavier. This probably has a lot to do with his limited combat experience, as we will not see him jump kicking, suplexing or QTE'ing away from hazards or enemies.
