Finished the main story tonight. Loved the game, loved the story, loved the ending. Really feels like it's set up for another trilogy and I can't praise the game enough on how it evolved from the originals. The move from Greek to Norse Gods was just brilliant. Reading some explanations of the ending was nice to flesh things out as well:

Usually most games I don't feel the need to go back and do more side quests, but i'm thinking of going back to try and beat the Valkyries and some additional side quests.

Maybe someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong here. Don't know how far I am into the game, just defeated this huge dragon, but every single doorway has a red lock over it saying it can't be used yet. I would think once you discover them you could use them but nope...

You can't use the fast travel to go anywhere until probably 3/4th of the way through the game.

After beating the game, spending time doing some of the remaining things. Finished upgrading the weapons to max, working on random armor and item upgrades, and I have Kratos at level 8 now. The couple of Valkyries i've fought have been much easier now, and I beat the one if Nilfheim on the second try.

Since I finished the main game already, does anyone know if it will affect anything gamewise if I bump it down from hard to normal? These Valkyries are kicking my ass on hard.

Nope doesn't have any effect gamewise or trophy wise no matter the difficulty you play on.

Thanks, I dropped it down and killed three Valkyries today. That made it MUCH easier.

Phew, been grinding mist echoes and finally did everything in Niflheim. What a chore.

Same here. That's what I did the last two days. All I've got left is the last level of trials in Muspelheim and that final Valkyrie.

That's where I'm currently at. Already killed the Valkyrie but only one tear. I'm not looking forward to grinding for those rare materials.

Luckily, by the time I got to the last tear and chest I needed to open I had an abundance of other resources like alloy and... I forget the name of the other two... that I could see at a shop for more mist. That helped me get the last amount I needed a little faster, as I looked ahead to see what I would still need for upgrades and figured out how many I could sell.

Having a blast with this game but holy crap how long is it?? I'm just now getting new armors offered to me that require dozens of components from creatures I haven't even seen yet.

You could probably run through the game without any of the side missions and finish in around 20 hours. I think I'm around 30 hours and still cleaning up side stuff. This is the first game in recent memory that I'm still playing after finishing the main story. It's just really satisfying to play.

Got the trophy for Muspelheim, basically down to the last Valkyrie and some of the other side quests that I don't think i'll bother win (ravens and lore stuff). I tried fighting the Valkyrie and got my ass kicked, not sure if i'll finish that one either

I finished the main story and need to finish the side missions, collectibles, the trials and defeat all of the Valkyries. I want to get the Platinum for this.

Edit - the constant updates are annoying though...

There was a point where the game seemed to update almost every day shortly after release. It was pretty annoying.

Just finished NIFLHEIM, so I'm at 100% with every Realm so far. Only the Valkyrie Queen is left and then I will "Explore the Realm Between Realms".

Killed the Valkyrie Queen bitch first, then continue to The Realm Between Realms... made the walk home. The End, Platinum!
Love this game so much, I hope they add a NEW GAME +.... I want a follow up already.
