But obviously people value those experiences and costs differently.
Yeah, I mean they definitely seem to have a high amount of quality games. I don’t know I’m debating still. I might see what’s on sale for Black Friday this year. If I can get a good bundle around then I might consider it. I don’t need the game immediately but the hype is getting to me.

Funny thing is, I would have never guessed that it's the same company behind those statues. Here is a slightly better video. They also point out the villains on there.

Just played the opening. Man what a cool game. Combat is so fun, like Arkham but faster, smoother and more inventive. Like God of War, there are probably too many moves to keep track of early but once you get the hang of it, it's really fun and entertaining. Zipping around NYC is a hoot. I'm no expert but we visited last year and I was able to navigate around based on my familiarity with certain areas near Times Square. Thought that was impressive. Game looks amazing as well.

I'm kind of horrified because my two copies of Spider-Man (separate orders in separate shipments) are both still listed as 'Label created' from a state away. UPS hasn't even picked 'em up from the Best Buy fulfillment center 200 miles away. Now I'm wondering if I've made a terrible mistake by not doing in-store pickup.

Put a hour in last night and it is amazing, spectacular and sensational

Agreed about combat feeling like Arkham, and I am OK with that. After the first mission, I swung around the city taking selfies. Gonna waste time on that for sure.

Got up this morning, and checked Best Buy. They had Spidey pros available for order and in store pickup. Score!

That sucks, my regular copy is arriving today from Best Buy. It shipped on Wednesday and shows out for delivery today.

In case someone still looking for one , Best Buy has in-stock the PS4 1TB Spidey bundle

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-pl...?skuId=6278284

No Collector's edition of the game even listed though.

LOL, I'm the one screaming about buying this digitally, and I didn't even mention that buying it digitally would've let me play it early last night instead of today - and I didn't even get to take advantage of that!

Be quick if ordering from Best Buy. I just picked up my Pro and there were 10 units behind the counter to be picked up. Now my store is showing none in stock.

I'm still rocking my 360 so I bought the PS4 exclusive this morning. Now out of stock at my store too. Glad I pulled the trigger.

I saw one of the Spidey PS4 Pro's sitting in the case at Target during lunch today. I'm still not really inspired to upgrade to the Pro though.

Ordered my Spiderman PS4 Pro bundle. Can't wait to pick up that red machine and get it home.

And then I'll decide whether I need to keep my old PS4 500gb or sell it to a friend.

Yeah. My two standard editions aren't coming until Monday. Despite being 'shipped' late yesterday afternoon, they didn't actually leave the distribution center until about a half hour ago.

Re: Spider-Man (Insomniac Games) PS4 (9/7/18)

Amazon gave me a partial refund today as the PS4 Spidey bundle that I order came in with a damaged box due to the horrible packaging they sent the system in. Since they didn't have replacements on hand, they gave me a partial refund.

Another thing I don't get is as to why it takes so long for the PS4 to copy information from a disc and install it. It's one of the things that turns me off about the new generation consoles.

Bummer, are you going to just go get it locally and return the shipped version?

Yeah, it took an hour+ for the game to copy from disc to hard drive and then download the update.

Played the first mission, the swinging through NY is easy and smooth. I'm not sure how I feel about the fighting mechanics yet, although i'm glad that it seems more forgiving then the Arkham games.

The game is quite fun but what is up with no reflection of Spidey in glass and reflections of buildings that do not represent what should be reflected? Seems like much ado about nothing but with the supposed attention to detail, why did this happen?

Didn't care for the first boss fight - not fun, and kinda annoying. Hope the rest are better.

The combat is kinda meh. A lot of button mashing.

Re: Spider-Man (Insomniac Games) PS4 (9/7/18)

After playing for a few hours now, some random observations:

I like swinging around the city, I don't know if a quick travel option opens up later but moving around is faster then I thought when looking at the map, so it doesn't feel too bad getting from place to place. I feel like Insomiac really got to perfect what they started from Sunset Overdrive as far as movement goes.

I like that you can apply the different suit powers to any suit, so you can pick your look without worrying about what powers and mods you use.

The side missions, backpack collectibles, and photographs have been more fun to me then the things you hunt for in the Arkham games, even if they are simpler/easier.

Speaking of, some of the stealth stuff and traversal around the city really does just feel like a Spider-Man version of the Arkham gameplay. That's not a bad thing, even if it isn't wholly unique.

The story hasn't done much for me yet.

Reflections are one of the hardest things to do in video games, especially on console hardware:
