There is no way I'd place an order that was 30 titles or more, and gambling the package wouldn't be completely thrashed, slashed, and smashed when it arrived on my doorstep.

I might get that top spot if they ever have another sale like this. The Criterion sale has been taking most of my attention. I'm over 100 of them at my local BN so far.

Could someone ask that Kino guy over on the BR forum to try and schedule sales around Arrow and Criterion instead of getting hit with all of them at once!

I suspect all these boutique labels run these sales as a way to clear out inventory before Labor Day and clean up their books for the fiscal year.

If they really wanted to maximize total sales, they would be better off using a more strategic window than the dead of summer.

well, at least everyone seems to be getting something. My order of 7/21 still hasn't shipped and they haven't responded to my 2 emails... I got my other order today with 2 missing titles, but they were clearly marked back order... not sure what is going on with my 7/21 order - that was the one with the Bob Hope films.

I don't mind summer sales because I remember when home video releases (DVD/BD) were nonexistent during the summer and most of us were just waiting for the Fall. I just wished they wouldn't run them all within the same small time frame in July. We do have June, July, and August and I believe all three companies would benefit.

The boutique brands having sales during the summer probably work better for them because the studios push more sales around Black Friday.

In the very least, I wish BN would space out the Criterion sales a little more, as the wait after the next one is pretty long.

One order was placed on 8/5 and one on 8/6. Absolutely no movement on both orders. Have called twice, once Friday 8/11 and once today 8/16 - and its the same info each time - that the order was approved, all items are in stock and shipping/tracking info is awaited. What a great way of celebrating a new 'launch' ! In today's day and age, to be kept waiting for this long with no attempt made to get updated order info after 10 days of order placement !!

I'm waiting on the items marked backordered on the shipping receipt that was in my first package. It would have been nice if the shipping notification email indicated the order was incomplete. Some kind of generic email explaining order status would have been nice. I'm not at all sure how long these items are supposed to be backordered. I bet Kino greatly underestimated the response from this sale.

No movement on my order placed on the 6th as well, credit card already been charged. This will be my first and last time dealing with them. Obviously they're overwhelmed and can't handle the volume.

I got a shipping e-mail but it had no specific information on it, -not even who it was from. I got an invoice with my shipment that showed all my items with some crossed out and marked "BO" and a note that items were backordered. No word on those remaining items yet. I haven't checked if I was charged but I'll assume I was.

The 6th? I am still waiting for my order from July 21st!

Of course, in my case, they ended shipping the box to the wrong address (in another state, no less) and are shipping a new one to me.

I really can't complain, though. Haven't had time to watch my other Kino orders that I received. It is not like my life is seriously impacted by not having these movies now. I can be patient. Yet it is almost a month and no email correspondence - I had to call them and speak to a rep to find out what is going on. If I don't get my movies by today, then I will call them again and try to get a tracking number...

I didn't send or get any emails, but got my order after a few weeks. I'd normally complain after maybe two months, so Kino is perfect in my book.
