Amazon Prime Day 2017 movie deals

There are a fair number of DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K deals for Prime Day, which has started already.

Here is a list of the Lightning Deals, which include a number of 3D and 4K titles:

https://www.amazon.com/b/ref=gbps_ft...373011&ie=UTF8

There is also a general 10% off a number of selected movie and TV titles. Again, there are a number of 4K and 3D titles included in this sale:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/browse.htm...692DJ8HQW0YT07

For example, John Wick 4K is $13.49. X-Men Days of Future Past 3D is $10.40

Interesting, at minimum eBay & NBC Stores are using the phrase "Prime Day" for sales they're running Tuesday (I suspect there's more retailer's doing the same). Wonder if Amazon will sue?

Re: Amazon Prime Day 2017 movie deals

I'd have a lot more respect for Amazon if they'd chosen July 19th as their sale date (719 being a Prime Number).

However, semi-back to topic - any idea if Amazon Warehouse Deals will offer discounts on media? For a short time on Saturday morning they were offering 20% off...but it went away within an hour or so. Might have been a glitch while they were fine-tuning their other 20% offers...

Warehouse Deals has 20% off select items, but does not have any movies currently listed.

Re: Amazon Prime Day 2017 movie deals

They're continuing to add Lightning Deals. There are about 50% more movie deals than earlier today, including stuff like Sicario 4K and The Magnificent Seven 4K in a few hours which weren't there earlier.

I just got an email from the Jeff Gordon fan shop advertising prime day sales there.

The Shallows on 4K sold out in about 5 seconds. The Panera $50 gift card went straight to Wait List Full, never saw an add to cart show up.

Its like 'Black Friday'. There's no patent or copyright claim on 'Prime Day'. In fact Amazon probably feels proud - after all 'imitation is the best form of flattery' :-)

Re: Amazon Prime Day 2017 movie deals

I've been meaning to pick up the second season of Outlander so I got the $19.99 deal. I paid $9.99 for half of season 1 on Black Friday so this is always $25-30 so it seemed reasonable.

Not sure which Amazon thread to put this in, but free $5 promo if you buy a $25 gift card.

Game of Thrones Seasons 1-6 for $74.99 is sooooo tempting.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LBL8MAG...=12PCAV69AUQFJ

I have seasons 1-3, but would love to get the Dolby Atmos ugprade plus digital copies. But then I wonder if there are UHD versions down the pipe, especially when the series is over.

I've resigned myself to picking up the complete series of GOT when it comes out. I imagine it will be a very nice set.

Tempted by the Bond collection for the digital copies alone.

Me too, but didn't one of the previous complete-at-the-time collections come with digital and cost like $75 or less?

I'm old (60). That said, what do you all do with these digital copies? Watch them on a 5" telephone screen? I (& I would assume most of us?) have copyguard defeat & convertor pc software (it's everywhere) & if I ever felt the need, could easily create a DRM free copy of any dvd & if I put a br player in my pc, blu as well.

Probably, plus there'll no doubt be a more complete version later.

I watch on my TV through a videogame console. I can also watch on my ipad while traveling.

I think the average joe is too lazy to rip movies, plus there's the actual legality of it. Heck, most PC's these days don't even come with optical drives.

But yeah, I watch digital copies on my tablet when travelling.

I redeem them (well most of them) and play it on any of my televisions thanks to apps (Upstairs - built in app, Living Room - Xbox One, Master Bedroom - Roku). Unfortunately, we only are using a couple of laptops and an usb burner if we really need one. I've tried watching a movie on my phone and I just can't do it. I suppose a tablet be a little better, but I'll take my 40-60 inch screens thank you very much. And all of my disc movies sit upstairs, away from the toddler who can climb stairs but not without me or the missus knowing

Re: Amazon Prime Day 2017 movie deals

Speaking of digital movies, has anyone mentioned they have a lot of Amazon video movies on sale. Not UV of course, but some decent deals.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/stor...QHQE6S5DTY3GJQ

edit: I picked up Orphan Black S5 for $9.99. I just cut the cord back in June, so at least I don't have to wait a year to see it.

Also, where are you seeing the James Bond w/ Digital copies collection? Or did I miss it already?

Digital copies are mostly for younger family members to use, the ones that have no tolerance for physical media.

It makes sharing a movie collection much easier with family members.

It was the ultimate BD collection + Spectre that started at 11:10. I didn't see it when I went back through the list so I guess it's already gone. I claimed it but didn't complete the purchase so I hope someone enjoyed their waiting-list success.

Hmm, if I tried to email a gift card to myself, it says to use Reload your balance instead, so I did that. Hopefully I still get the $5.

I just used a different email address to send the gc to and it loaded into my account once I clicked on the link since I was already logged in to my account.

I assume they just do not let you send it to the same email address as on your account.
