The game is set to be an open-world action-adventure that includes a focus on exploration and environmental puzzles, and will continue the series’ staple hack and slash combat with new protagonist, Fury.
It’s set around the same time as the events of Darksiders 2, which was released almost five years ago, and will follow Fury’s quest to destroy unique physical versions of of the Seven Deadly Sins.
Gunfire Games’ development team includes multiple ex-Vigil Games employees who worked on Darksiders and Darksiders 2, including the Game Director, Executive Producer, Technical Director, Lead Environment Artist, and more.
Since the studio’s formation in 2014, they’ve worked on titles including Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition and Chronos, which was one of IGN’s nominees for the best VR game of 2016.
Lars Wingefors, Co-Founder and Group CEO at THQ Nordic AB said, “After countless rumors, a major catalogue acquisition, and even a corporate re-brand, the team at THQ Nordic is thrilled to finally confirm plans for Darksiders III.”

I still have to finish 1 (that's bc, correct?) and I have the One version of definitive or whatever of 2, but yet to touch. I think it was real cheap...

That looked pretty good. More of the same, though I’ve only played a minute of first. Gotta make time. This looked puzzler, slasher, rpg, third person goodness. Though don’t know last time I played third person. A little of one of the new Tomb Raiders but that was awhile ago...

Biomutant, initially set for a 2018 release, and Darksiders 3, which was also looking at launch this year, may also be facing a delay. The two titles are "still under evaluation for setting a release date."

i really gotta play first 2. at least 1, that is better one, right? it will be first 3rd person in a long time. would be a nice break, though i was getting into Batman: Arkham City. so when is this coming out then?

2 is way better than 1 in my opinion. Really good Zelda / God of War rip off.

Game comes out tomorrow and there's little to no hype. A lot of bad reviews as well. Jim Sterlings first impressions video he didn't like it and Sterling loved DS 1 and 2.
