Bungie done goofed again. Yet another Bug. At this point everyone at Bungie should just be loaded onto a shuttle and jettisoned into space.

On a more serious note. I finish the requirements to start forging weapons on my warlock and after getting my scout rifle I figured I'd unlock the forge on my Hunter. Run through the tedious adventures and what's my reward for completing the first 3 adventures? An engram that turns into the same Scout Rifle. Classic Bungie!

Yeah, after a ton of work, I got an exotic engram for a gun I already have, but it was 10 light levels higher, so um, "yay"?

just as an aside, if you didn't complete an exotic weapon quest on a character pre CoO if you do it now the power level scales higher with the new content

I have had a completed MIDA sitting at the gunsmith that I never picked up that is currently scaling up (currently 325+) as I continue to play

when we get around to the raid lair are we going in blind or have people started watching/reading the mechanics?

I haven't yet watched/read anything other than hearing Scott say there was jumping (not exactly a spoiler)

I finished CoO, at least the story on one character and I would say it took me roughly 4 hours. I am a casual player and I like to explore.

Mercury is too small, one public event that gets really tiresome when there are not enough people on. The adventures are rehashed mission from the story, the "Infinite Forest" is about as infinite as how many times they can generate the same small map.

Like the rest of D2 there is no unique loot pool so turning in tokens to Brother Vance gets you a random assortment of things to breakdown and hoard.

The shaders are very nice, probably the best part of the DLC. Some new ships and weapons but they pale in comparison to realizing that there is nothing left on that planet to do.

I have not unlocked the forge, the heroic adventure is too tough for me and I have been reading that the weapons are not worth it.

I will take my time finishing the story on my other two characters and there is no reward worth playing through for.

It's infinite because you feel like you are playing the same mission over and over and over.

Also, I kept waiting for the Lorax to show up during the Mercury past mission. I got a Dr. Suess Truffula Tree vibe from it.

Heard the new Raid lair is fun. So at least the DLC has that going for it. I'll be interested to see how the masterworks weapons turn out when they start dropping tomorrow.

I played through enough last night to hit the new level cap, but haven't finished all of the new content yet. It was fun to hop back in after taking some time off. Ran through a couple of the weekly milestones too. Got the Jade Rabbit out of an engram, but haven't gotten a chance to check it out yet.

I'm more than happy to run the new areas of the raid with you guys once you get a couple runs in.

The Dawning 12/19 - 1/9 will see Mayhem return to the Crucible (D2 debut)

also Bungie is launching a free webcomic series starting next week to explore some of the lore

Well I'm up to 7 masterworks cores. 3 more and then I can figure out which gun I'm going to put it into first. I'm thinking I might go with Unspoken Promise. Using that as a Titan and wearing the Rig will be an orb generating machine. Only masterwork that I've had drop that I haven't broken down so far is my Play of the Game grenade launcher. Glad to see them add something to grind for.

the return of Mayhem has been one of the best (temp) additions to D2

unfortunately the nova bomb exploit is one of the most annoying ... not because people are using it for an advantage (most teams using it wind up losing) but because of that damn annoying sound of it activating all match long

Yeah, if it's not the linear fusion rifle glitch, it's the nova bomb. Fix your shit Bungie!
It's almost as if they want the crucible matches to feel like you're at a rave.

There may be five types of enemies but they seem to exist for the purpose of target practice. Beautiful maps and areas in the game are totally empty and devoid of any value for exploring, finding things, learning lore, looking for clues, dead ghosts . . . where is the game play that makes me want to log in each day?

The farm is all but abandoned, the tower is a sterile hangar that makes me want to leave every time I have to visit.

We will see what actually gets updated and how it is received but my playtime is cut way back from D1. And as of what I see and what is important to me I do not see anything in that list that makes me change my view that there is little of any value for my limited gaming time.

Destiny 2 needs more weapons that matter, both in power and the hunt to acquire them. Exotics need to live up to their name. The most skillful or visceral weapons like Snipers, Shotguns, and Fusion Rifles need to return to glory. We’re on it.
