Thank you. I frequent the forums, so I am usually pretty aware of these type of sales, and I don't remember ever seeing this sale before at Target. Hopefully, they will bring it back. I felt I got some good deals on titles that typically do not go on sale - like the Cinerama titles.

Target.com has pulled this tactic two or three times with me on Blu-ray pre-orders. I am still waiting on a Blu-ray set I pre-ordered from them and it came out well over a month ago. The set is not out of print or anything. Supposedly it's due in early April. I am not holding my breath.

That doesn't sound good. I'll see if customer service has any options.

If we needed any more confirmation that Target is using the same distributor as many other retailers to fulfill online orders, my pre-order of September Storm from this sale arrived in a Target box with a Deep Discount receipt.

re: Target buy-2-get-1-free mega-thread

After yet another delayed shipment notice on one of the movies I ordered in this deal, I finally called target.com today and they had no options- but they sent a $5 gift card for my trouble. I chose to keep the order, but will cancel if they try to extend it again at the end of May. Three months is long enough. It is hard to believe they cannot obtain one copy of Finding Dory 3D.

Look out for random, ever changing series of Amazon PMs over the same period

Re: Target: : Buy Two Get One Free Movies + More Sunday June 13th - June 19th

Oh yeah, I forgot about Amazon price matching. They are so slow to do price matching the last few Target B2G1F sales at least.
But sometimes they offer a coupon instead to get the sale price which is nice but searching for movies can be a pain in the butt.

And I checked my Target Favorite list and they already dropped prices on a bunch of movies I have on the list from the last time I checked it.

Still undecided if I'm going to buy a few or go spend a few hundred.

They raised a few on my list.
Amazon also has their own B2G1F that usually starts on Monday once Target starts their sale. Not as good, but occasionally there's something...

Re: Target: : Buy Two Get One Free Movies + More Sunday June 13th - June 19th

I got a notification that King Kong (1976) was back in stock last night, but by the time I found 2 things to pair it with it was out of stock again

I did place an order at the beginning of the week and one package shipped with 6 BDs. Well I got it yesterday, but it instead included 7 BDs I did not order, so assumably someone else got my 6 BDs. I used the chat and they gave me a refund and told me I could keep the wrong BDs. Unfortunately, that package was supposed to include Psycho Goreman which is now out of stock.

Re: Target: : Buy Two Get One Free Movies + More Sunday June 13th - June 19th

My copy of King Kong from Target arrived with a loose disc. No scratches, but a small chip in the outer ring which concerns me.
While it may not affect playback immediately (haven't checked yet), I wonder how long it will be before that compromising of the coating leads to oxidation and rot?
And of course the disc affected is the TV cut, which was the sole reason I bought the set.

I'd be happy to return it for a replacement, but they can't keep the stupid thing in stock. I guess I'll wait a few weeks and return it then if I can get a replacement.

Was happy that I kept my orders to minimum this time and, other than Kong, everything showed up in good shape.

Nope nope nooooooope nooooo.

Just plunked down $70 to Kino, Shout (Scream) hasn't done their Halloween sale yet, and Criterion will have a one day flash in the next few weeks as well.

It's not supposed to -- these sales are intended to exclude new releases -- but that hasn't stopped 'em from working anyway!

Re: Target: : Buy Two Get One Free Movies + More Sunday June 13th - June 19th

There are 10,000+ blu-ray movies to search through and the Target search engine pretty much sucks. Please allow me to help with that. These are the methods I found to allow full searches within the imposed 50 page limits.

For comprehensive searches:

In the Target.com search bar enter "blu ray" without the quotes no hyphen. This will unlock the option to search by price. $0-$15; $15-$25; $25-$50. Also in the price drop down, there is a box where you can enter the dollar amount (in whole dollars) for a custom search. While you are on the filter portion of the page, you may wish to click the "Deals" drop down section and tick the boxes selecting between the current sales. It's also worth selecting "Movies, Music & Books" in the Category drop down to eliminate any electronics. Searches are still limited to 50 pages.

For searches of the smaller distributors:

CAV Distributing for Grindhouse/Severin/Synapse/Troma
Kino International for Code Red/Kino/Scorpion
Music Video Dist for Arrow/Blue Underground/Dark Force/MVD/VCI
Ocn Digital Labs Lld Dba or Ocn Distribution for Vinegar Syndrome (Some titles are listed under Vinegar Syndrome as well)
Shout Factory for Scream Factory

For those of you putting your shopping lists together now, remember:
You can have only 50 items saved,
but have unlimited items in the Wishlist/Favorites
Credit to 314carpenter over at blue-ray.com

Also some posts about movies disappearing from people's Save for later and maybe favorites.
I just checked my Save for later list and it is at 26, and I'm sure it was over 40 the last time I checked. I have no idea what is missing. Target might be not stocking as many obscure movie studio media.

There's also a 10% off Target Giftcard offer for redcard holders today and tomorrow.

Just be aware that the discount is effectively 5% when you go to use it, since any gift cards used as payment forfeit the standard 5% RedCard discount on the amount being used.

As expected most pre-orders aren't eligible, and even things due out this week aren't showing the offer available.

One odd exception is the slate of Shout/Scream releases due out end of December (Trog, No Way To Treat A Lady, Lady In A Cage, Vampire Lovers).

Re: Target: : Buy Two Get One Free Movies + More Sunday June 13th - June 19th

Just one order for me this time around. I went by one Target store today to see if I could find Alita: Battle Angel 4K(not sold online)and a few other movies, but no luck.
The whole store got a reset but the movies and books were in the same location but very few of both books and movies.
But they still may not be done restocking items, still not worth a trip if just looking for movies and books.
