There was one minor drawback when I included Club Play Charts. Purple Rain is a rock ballad and (of course) didn't make the CB Charts. Obviously not the song's fault as it wasn't meant to be a dancing tune. It's missing CB Charts points and would've scored higher, but I couldn't figure out a better way to do so. A technical charts calculation flaw on my end.

Get Off did score globally pretty well.

Prince's new album won't see the light of day if his estate gets its way -- and the legal battle's already resulted in the new music getting removed from iTunes and Apple Music.

The "Deliverance" album vanished from Apple's platforms Wednesday around 3:30 PM PT. When you search for it on iTunes it shows no results for Prince, and Apple Music says the album is "not available." It was #1 on the pre-order chart.

Meanwhile, Prince's estate went into court Wednesday asking a judge to block the album's release ... in conjunction with a lawsuit it filed against the producer behind the EP.

Apple itself wasn't named in the suit, but seems like it's waiting for the legal dust to settle. We've reached out to Apple, but haven't heard back.

Google Play has also pulled it, while Amazon still has it up for pre-order, but you don't immediately get the title track ... like you previously could on Apple.

Yeah, that first half of Purple Rain's disc 2 looks like a waste, but the rest of the package looks good - especially if the remaster is done right.

Purple Rain deluxe set also includes Let's Go Crazy Extended Dance Mix. I'd say this set pretty much covers evertything Purple Rain related. We even get the original 12 minute Computer Blue version.

One song that is missing is "Wednesday" by Jill Jones which, according to legend, was included in the rough cut of Purple Rain before most scenes with Jill Jones were edited.

Yea I have the Itunes thing , wasn't impressed really by any of the tracks.

As mentioned Purple Rain set is pretty unimpressive really. Not one of the things really done right. Have many of the purple rain ones already. Wednesday should've been included. Computer Blue I have a 15 minutes version maybe 16, have various 12 and 13 minute versions already too.

The PR deluxe would be perfect if it had one more disc of unreleased stuff, but I'm happy with it overall. People would be bitching and moaning if the single versions weren't included.

I know Prince was personally working on the early conception for this deluxe edition but I have to wonder, had he lived would songs like Erotic City and We Can Fuck make the cut?

I wish one of the many greatest hits packages ever included Darling Nikki. That sound DEFINES Prince to me and it is a personal favorite.

Yeah, that Syracuse show is good. I used to watch my VHS copy of that all the time. I wish it all included that concert on compact discs.

OMG do I hate the Electric Intercourse Studio version about to come out. It beyond sucks compared to the rehearsal that's been around for decades.

I wonder too Ringmaster. I've yet to hear anything about it. I see people saying dvd. But if it's a dvd I'm not buying any of it.

CONFIRMED it's a dvd. Originally they said TWO concert films. Now it's one shit dvd of crap that's already been released....

NPG Records and Warner Bros. Records will release a multi-disc reissue of Prince's Grammy- and Oscar-winning 1984 album Purple Rain on June 23. The set will feature a handful of previously unreleased songs and a long-unavailable concert film, Prince and the Revolution Live!, recorded in 1985 near the end of the Purple Rain tour in Syracuse, New York.

A two-CD version of the album includes the 2015 Paisley Park Remaster of the original soundtrack "presenting an unheard vision of the album overseen by Prince himself," according to a release announcing the sets. A From the Vault & Unreleased bonus disc has 11 songs from Prince's legendary vault, including rarities such as "Our Destiny/ Roadhouse Garden," the 1983 instrumental "Father's Song," "Katrina's Paper Dolls," "Velvet Kitty Cat," "Wonderful Ass," a 10-minute version of "We Can F--k" and others.

All of the material was mastered by Bernie Grundman, the mastering engineer who worked on the original album.

A three-disc Expanded Edition will include a third disc of Single Edits & B-Sides and the live DVD of the Syracuse show featuring audio and video restored from the original production master tape.

A fan pre-order is live today (Apr. 28) and unlocks an instant free download of the unreleased studio version of the song "Electric Intercourse," recorded in 1983 and previously only heard live.

At least WB is finally getting around to releasing this stuff. I don't know if we would ever see a commemorative release if Prince had it his way. Still wish we could get a complete PURPLE RAIN CD release with score, Dez Dickerson's song, and The Time's music.

Anyone else going to see The Revolution on tour? They'll be playing two shows in San Francisco this Summer.

I just heard WB is aware they said two concert dvds. And know we expected that, but it just wasn't possible for it to be done in time. But have a look at this sample. All rumor and guess work really but still..
