Well, almost had a heart attack. After the Kong disaster, I decided to go the "safe" route and pick up my Guardians Steelbook in-store. I gave my info to the Online pick-up CS gal and she happily came back a moment later -- holding a blue case with a cardboard slipcover with a sticker on the front with my name. I said "WOAH! That is NOT what I had ordered. I'm a Steelbook collector and I have every MCU Steelbook since The Avengers. You got the wrong one". Another guy came over and tried to tell me how busy they were that morning and that they must have gotten confused. He said that they were all out at this store but he'd try to find one somewhere else. I totally lost it and told him he needed to fix this shit right now. I wasn't cool, but man that pissed me off. You can't be that cavalier when you are dealing with a limited item like that. Eventually another guy came out form the back with a Steelbook and gave that one to me. No idea if it was an employee's copy or whatnot. Don't really care -- I went to extraordinary lengths to get a copy, ordering it months ago for in-store pick up. It's my 9th one. I wasn't going to pat him on the shoulder and tell him it's no big deal to screw up the order.
Anyway, got the Steelbook now. I think it's my...9th favorite of the bunch. The back is REALLY ugly. Shame they didn't do something better. And the code doesn't unlock a 4K digital copy either which is total bullshit.

It's available for shipping right now. Buy it that way if you want to guarantee a copy. Buy it with another title that will ship later (i.e. Game of Thrones S7), then cancel that second item after your first one ships and voila, you get free shipping on a single item.

You can get the price match later in-store.

Anybody else concerned about the BestBuy 4k exclusive steelbooks (Starship Troopers or Close Encounters) coming out next week?

Both of them has said "Coming Soon", not sold out or anything else for a while. Apparently they do exist (there are pictures of them over at that "other" forum)..but I'm kinda concerned about my usual method of ordering in-store pickup on the day of. I can't go camp out at the Best Buy (that whole job/family responsibility thing), so I'm not sure the option of in-store pickup will be available.

Both were available for preorder for awhile until they changed it. I'm going to say not to worry about it. The pattern I have noticed going back to July has been:

1. BB.com takes preorders but as they get closer to release they stop.
2. In-Store pickup becomes available the night before release.
3. Store release (Most sell out quickly)
4. Stores have been getting some resupplies within a week or two.
5. BB.com starts selling some more of them when they get them. Once again, usually a week or two.

I'll probably do plain vanilla 4k for Atomic Blonde. Not in love with the steelbook to be honest and it's a blind buy too. Not that it has stopped me before, but I'm trying to be more picky, lol.
