Picked up Vampires. Thinking about picking up The Believers some other time.

re: Twilight Time Blu-Ray Deals

I placed my first order, though I'm likely to place one more before this sale is done. I tried to focus on high priority titles I've meant to pick up for a while and ones I think have a higher likelihood of selling out.

Here were a few I bought:
Crimes and Misdemeanors
Experiment in Terror
Major Dundee
10 Rillington Place
Man in the Dark
Big Heat

Haven't Man in the Dark and Major Dundee been more expensive in some of the previous sales? I could swear they were ones that previously held at $24.95.

Not sure about Man in the Dark, but I believe Major Dundee was $34.95 since it has two BDs, one for each cut of the film. I just ordered it myself.

I just ordered Cowboy (great movie). I've been thinking about it for weeks, but the sale price pushed me over the edge and I had to have it.

I should really pick up John Carpenter's Vampires before its gone. At $20 its still pricey but at least a bit less than normal.

I was impressed with the color accuracy of the film as I remembered it...watching it on a brand new VHS tape back in the day.

If you like the film, get it. It will be like watching it for the first time, and you'll notice stuff you never did.

re: Twilight Time Blu-Ray Deals

My order shipped today, 4 days after order which is pretty normal for them considering last time I checked it was like two little old ladies who did all of the shipping and they usually get slammed during a sale like this. It was also marked as shipping first class which is a pleasant upgrade from the media mail option. Should see it Friday hopefully.

I received my shipping notification, and it looks like my media mail was also upgraded. That was unnecessary but much appreciated!

re: Twilight Time Blu-Ray Deals

I had two orders, spaced 2 days apart. Only the first one shipped. And its Media Mail - guessing so cos of almost coast to coast. But there's profit in there too because it most certainly does not cost $11 for media mail from VA to CA

re: Twilight Time Blu-Ray Deals

Received my order on Friday, no problems at all..they always ship with good and secure packaging. Heck, I think I'm up to 15 or so Twilight Time titles now. I'm playing a waiting game with Hound of the Baskervilles right now, but I might have to bite the bullet before too long (or at least wait until Russia House is available for pre-order which is in a week and a half). We'll see.

re: Twilight Time Blu-Ray Deals

I just saw my mailman attempt two three pointers from the curb, with my two packages. Don't know if he was aiming at my palm trees inside but the net result was two crashing packages over the gate into my front walkway. What would it take to take 4 steps and gently drop it over the gate ? Laziness is such a virtue with USPS

Yeah, for the most part USPS package people are pretty good. We have a parcel box but if they do have to deliver it to my porch, it's almost always in good shape with no issues. Now UPS guys....that's a whole different manner. I get concerned anytime I see the familiar tracking number. FedEx is kinda in the middle, no real issues.

re: Twilight Time Blu-Ray Deals

I've never had any issues with the people who bring my packages to my house, either USPS or UPS, but I do get damaged packages more often than I would like.

But most of the damage seems to come while the packages are changing distribution points when they're being sorted, loaded, and unloaded from trucks, and not from the drivers and mailmen. Also doesn't help that Amazon and others send things with minimal protection (flimsy boxes, bubble mailers).

re: Twilight Time Blu-Ray Deals

Went a little nuts before the sale ended, my first TT order in a year or so:

Drums Along the Mohawk
The Big Heat
Major Dundee
The Killer Elite
The Fantasticks
Sense and Sensibility
Man in the Dark
Remains of the Day
Support Your Local Gunfighter/Sheriff

It just took me about five tries to update my credit card and get my order submitted on their vintage-1998 website.

Is there a Screen Archives coupon active this weekend for used/out of print CDs? I'm on the road now and don't have access to my archived e-mail, and I can't find any mention of it on their site or Facebook page. --Peter
