I doubt if the store by me will bother. They don't have much.

The discount should be in the registers whether the store chooses to flag the sale and mark the disks or not. I got the discount on a handful of brown-tagged DVD's during the last Friends & Family Day at and out-of-town BL that hadn't ticketed anything. I just verified the discount at the register before checking out.
The BL in the photo has an excessive number of yellow-tagged disks, but they don't seem to get much foot traffic. YMMV.

The local BL got a fairly large restock. Unfortunately the only thing I found particularly cool was Marlene Dietrich: The Glamor Collection (DVD Set) which I already bought from BL for $5 (now it's $8).
I did buy Point Pleasant complete 3 disc series (1 season) for $3 as a blind buy.
I came up $2 short for my $5 off $15 so I put back 2 blu-rays at $5: The Graduate & Fargo (the film).
I was told much of the store's delivery wasn't out yet, so I will try to either go back or hit the other local BL. They FINALLY sold their token Will Rogers box (sad it took over a month at $8)

None of my local stores that I have hit so far got a great restock, nor a all-around clearance. I visited the Chardon, OH store and they had some random clearance on one side of a dvd rack.

I had a unique & unpleasant experience today at the BL on 72nd in Tacoma, WA.
Yesterday, I purchased "Across the Universe" Blu-ray/DVD Combo for $3 - coupon.
Took it home, opened it & it was missing the blu. I returned it today with all packaging & a receipt & requested an exchange. The clerk said she had to get manager's approval because I might have stolen the disc (her words). The manager did approve it it with no hassle; but I found this quite insulting. I opened the other one in the store & it did have both discs.
I hope BL management reads this. Not a good way to treat a regular customer of many years.

Saw the new batch today. A number of titles, but the only things at all memorable were 2 Bogart/Bacall dvd's for $5 ea & the 3 disc Moneyball blu/dvd for $5. I suspect every person on this board already owns the Bogarts! I bought a little bit of food.

One was Key Largo, I don't remember the other title; it was one of the 4 Bogart/Bacall collaborations.
I only saw 1 each.

As of Saturday, the Puyallup WA store still had the Will Rogers and Marlene Dietrich (w/slipcase!) boxsets @ $8.

I hit the Pearl Street superstore at about 3 PM. They were either pretty picked out, or they may have just not gotten much for awhile.
Their were a number of titles new to me at BL, but most were not familiar to me or were junk.
I bought the Moneyball 3 pack & a Rum Diaries DVD.

I know that some people buy DVD's but then wait quite a while before opening them. YMMV, but side 1 of disks 1 and 2 of the Carole Lombard Glamour Collection that I bought last weekend at BL fail to play the whole way through. I didn't bother checking the side 2's.
I know Universal once had trouble with DVD18's, although these are both DVD14's.
Going to verify how their corporate handles bad disks, but am not getting my hopes up.

I have that very same title, bought from the store years ago.

I remember that batch. They were $5 and usually included the Mae West set, but didn't have slipcovers (the only packaging to include the set titles) so was a little confusing for casual buyers.
Addendum: It's a small thing but disk #2 of my Dietrich set includes just one film but has no silk-screening on the non-data side, making it appear double-sided. Put it in a computer and there are 5 "RANDUM" files, likely containing junk. I don't see "Golden Earrings" sold separately so this is apparently not a mistake, but certainly odd.

This is significant news if you frequent Big Lots. After years of wondering the rhyme and reason they use to send out coupons, I had a cashier tell me as I left the store yesterday that the Buzz Club was changing. Starting November 1st (today), customers would receive a $5 coupon after every 3 purchases.
No particulars given, so I don't know if the purchases need to be a minimum amount or if the $5 coupon is off of $15, $20 or some other amount.

Potentially a great deal if the threshold for qualifying purchase is low, and you live near a Big Lots. I only drive by a Big Lots a few times a year now, sadly.

Website reflects the changes. Interesting details.
http://www.biglots.com/bigrewards/bi...ref=CJ#detail3
Looks like no minimum purchase amount. It is 1 purchase per day per store. You can only get one $5 reward a week. However, they build up per this tidbit:
I read on another site, it's a $5 off $15 reward. The site doesn't specifically mention that, just calling them a $5 reward. And it looks like you can use more than one on a transaction. And when redeeming one, that counts as a purchase toward the next one.
All in all, a good deal if you have one nearby. I may make it a habit to stop in for a small purchase frequently.

We’d love for you to shop with us more frequently! You can receive one $5 Reward per week. If you shop more during a week, any additional qualifying purchases and subsequent earned Rewards will carry over into future weeks for up to 12 months. For example, if you make 9 qualified purchases in one week (Sunday - Saturday), you will receive one reward per week for the next 3 weeks.

I saw Arrested Development S1-3, The Shield S3, The Unit S2 and Monk S4.
(I wrote down the prices but seem to have misplaced that, sorry)
