We haven't posted a Zero Punctuation here in a while, but this one is right on the money.

Finally got around to finishing this. Wound up with 2 people, made so many stupid decisions in hindsight... guess I can't be too harsh on people making stupid decisions in horror movies anymore. Great "game", loved it, although I would of preferred something a little less supernatural story wise. Definitely looking forward to whatever Supermassive does next.
I think I'm going to replay this soon just to see how quickly I can get each character killed. It seems like you should be able to wipe them all out pretty early?

Got this game on BF, for $18 or something like that.
I actually tried to start playing it last week, and then saw the big patch.
But yeah, it was a quick game. Really great break from Fallout 4.
I got 3 survivors!

Re: Until Dawn (PS4 - 8/25/15)
I rented this yesterday, and played through the whole thing in one sitting. Took about 7.5 hours.
Not sure how I feel about it. The beginning was WAY too slow for me. Took forever for the action to kick in. Didn't really care for the quicktime events, they seemed inconsistent. Most times if I pushed the wrong button, the character would just stumble and get back up. Didn't feel like it really effected the game at all. Then there were a few times when a single miss click would end with someone dying.
I thought the direction it goes in the last 2 or 3 chapters was kind of lame. REALLY didn't like the mine sequences, and was annoyed that people kept going there.
That said, it was a very tense experience. Not sure I'd want to play through it again... I get the impression that the story doesn't really change all that much depending on who is alive and who isn't.
I would have finished with 4 people alive, but at the very last "DON'T MOVE!" sequence, the dog bumped my arm and got someone killed. Bummer.
Oh yeah, did I miss something in the very beginning about why they didn't turn any lights on in the cabin?

Spoiler:
I could be mis-remembering that. In any case, in a horror game steeped in the supernatural, getting hung up on the availability of electrical service of a snowed-in cabin in the mountains during a blizzard seems like over-analysis.

3 people survived my first playthrough (woulda been 5, but I made a bad call at the very end).
I'm glad I bought this one instead of renting it 'cause I want to play through it at least twice more: once where everyone lives and again where everyone's dead.

Can you actually have everyone live?

There's one who has to "die" for story purposes (and the beginning event is unavoidable as well). Everyone else is fair game either way.
I need to replay it.

I don't understand the point of playing it again to try to keep everyone alive. The only reason I enjoyed it the first time was I didn't know what was going to happen. With replays, the actual story and game doesn't really change at all depending on who lives (except you may have someone else following you around). The whole branching thing is mostly bullshit. Plus the first couple hours are pretty tedious. I certainly couldn't sit through that again. It is mainly just to see what the people that live say at the end during the credits? If I were interested in that, I'd just youtube it.

I had fun replaying it for the different outcomes & to get the different trophies, but I think the game is a hell of a good time. It's easier on replays when you aren't roaming around lost looking for stuff.

I just got around to playing this this weekend as I got it on sale a little while back. I really enjoy these type of games and this one was pretty entertaining. I had 5 people live. If I ever take another lap through this game, the goal will be to kill everyone off.
There were some things that disappointed me.
Other than that, I enjoyed it. I'm up for a sequel but I hope they keep the horror theme and go for a different type of monster.

Borrowed this game from the company library and just started playing last night. Just through the first intro chapter and enjoying it so far.
Also, the controls are miserable in this.

Finished! 3 people lived, and I'm kind of annoyed at some of the deaths and bummed at my choice at the end too (probably the same as Adam's).
Fun game, not really interested in going back just to save everyone more people though, largely because of the slow movement and having to sit through all the cut scenes and everything. I enjoyed the story quite a bit, even though i'm not a big fan of horror games these days. All the actors did a pretty good job, and it was fun seeing actors I know like the guy that plays Ward, Hayden, and the Mr. Robot guy. I think it actually added a bit to the game seeing real actors.

Got a used copy of this game yesterday and played some tonight. So far it's really impressive, and the graphics are unbelievable. I am curious about something: my PS4 makes really loud spinning noises when this disc is in it. Doesn't inhibit game play but makes it hard to hear what the characters are saying. It doesn't do that with other games. Wondering if it's the game I got or if it's high graphic content makes the system work overtime. I recently installed a 1 TB hard drive so I know memory isn't an issue.

One of my physical PS4 games caused my console's fan and/or HDD to work overtime. So it was either this, Bloodborne, or The Order: 1886.
It could have been this... but I don't remember for certain. I've been meaning to replay it though.

Re: Until Dawn (PS4 - 8/25/15)
I started this last night and absolutely love it. Everything from the setting and atmosphere to the character introductions are very well done. I'm only a chapter in so far, but I'm basing my decisions on how I would feel a movie version would play out. So hopefully throughout the game I can get these kids to do some dumb stuff and in result get some gratifying deaths scenes out of it.
Out of curiosity, does the beginning of the game start out the same for everyone?
