The mirror reflections appear, it just takes a second. I know because I was joking to my wife that Lincoln was a vampire. Then his reflection appeared.

I understand what they are trying to do with the lighting and color of the game...and at times it looks amazing...but at hate how washed out it is at times...

Story and the world this game has created is brilliant. Easily one of the biggest surprises this year...Not sure how it will hold up but right now I am hooked.

This is kind of an interesting feature:

And I guess if you even just loiter around a white neighborhood or by a white restaurant, even without your gun drawn, you'll get the cops called on you.

This is one of those moments where I'm thinking I don't need this much realism in my game. I wouldn't mind this as an option but this is like getting pulled over for speeding in Grand Theft Auto...I'm just playing a game, we should always have loopholes. If I want realism, I'll play Madden.

It probably depends on the difficulty setting, on Easy, traffic infractions don't cause them to come after you.

(100MPH+ through a red light by a cop does nothing)

I think that the cops only get called if you run someone over, attack someone (sometimes), crash into a car in front of them (sometimes), shoot your gun (sometimes), and trespass.

In the first game, you'd get pulled over for speeding. I hated that.

I play on medium, by the way.

I was close with my review score. 7.5 from IGN.

I'm about halfway through the thing and am really enjoying it. I don't regret the purchase at all. That being said the comparisons between this and L.A. Noire as well as Infamous Second Son are appropriate. Much like L.A. Noire the world is very detailed but somehow feels totally lifeless as devoid of personality. And just like Second Son the mission structure isn't verified and is highly repetitive. You can definitely wait for the $20 mark on this one but it is worth playing.

Played 30 mins last night and was digging it... hopefully it keeps my attention more than the last Deus Ex.

I concur with Deus Ex. I picked it up, played it for a couple of hours and have not returned to it since. Its weird that its not pulling me in as some of the other games in the series. Will get back to it....eventually.

Ok, off topic (sorry) but I gotta reply to this here: Deus Ex sucks because you're supposed to be this bad ass cyborg with all these bad ass upgrades yet none of them really make that much of a difference and it takes 10-12 bullets to take down an enemy... combine that with having to constantly search for ammo and you have a game that should be awesome but misses the mark at every opportunity.

Deus Ex is awesome. You guys are crazy. There's a reason for the high scores.

Stupid Mafia 3 keeps crashing on me and sending me back to the dashboard.

Re: Mafia 3 (2016) - PS4, Xbox One, PC

Not meaning to change the course of the thread, but getting back to Deus Ex for a second...i have no doubt that the game is rather excellent and it feels close to the original game and Human Revolution. I took down more bad guys in HR with stealth than anything else and this really added to the game for me. I guess my problem is that i have a lot of games on the go at the moment and its not going to let up until 2017. Deus Ex is a game that requires time and patience and at the moment i am too deep into a few other games to give it the effort it deserves. I am very glad i bought the game and positive i will get back to it and complete it in the not too distant future, it just didnt capture my attention enough off the bat to place it ahead of other games that were waiting to be played on my shelf.

Between the crashing and the repetitive missions, I'm ready to finish this and trade it in.

^^ Well that doesn't bode well. I'm hoping to get a few more hours in this weekend... but if the game is going to crash, I'm out. I just don't have the time to game much these days; let alone for a broken game.

I've honestly never had a game crash as much as this one. At least twice an hour.

The story is good, though.

I just finished it. Decent ending. I'm not sticking around for DLC though. I'm trading this in tomorrow.

Same thing here on all accounts.

Spoiler:
I chose to leave the life of crime behind and that Irish guy got left in charge.

Re: Mafia 3 (2016) - PS4, Xbox One, PC

finished...this is an average open world game, with a bit of repetitive bullshit..but god the story was so well done. Easily some of the best acting in a game ever..and I actually really enjoyed the story.

As a game alone I would give it a 7..but as an overall experience I would give it a 9 because I really enjoyed the world it created.

I know this will probably be discounted on black Friday but since I've almost wrapped up Gear's campaign and Horde isn't really doing it for me since so many people quit out I may trade it in before the 30 dollar deadline. Couple it with the 20 dollar credit I got for preordering Gears and I'm out the door for 10 bucks. I loved the first two Mafia's.

Re: Mafia 3 (2016) - PS4, Xbox One, PC

finished my second run of this to get my platinum...

Not focusing on all the little things and just enjoying the game...I found it to be a better experience. The first run I was making sure I kept everyone alive, and the wire taps really dragged the game down. I did not mess with that part at all this time, just focused on killing everything. Props to them for changing the story of your side characters based on your actions. It was almost like a different game at times.
